If you wish to become a person of such power, remember this. Wherever you may find your place and whatever work may come to your hand, you must always be aware of the larger movement of life which encloses your special task. You must have the consciousness of that central power from which all activities are inadequate manifestations.

A ship that is going in the wrong direction can be turned because it is guided by a driving force. But you can do nothing with a ship that is drifting. It has no driving force. It is at the mercy of the elements. 

You can convert a man or woman who has a mistaken purpose. You can show them the error of their ways. But you can do little with the lazy and indolent who are drifting through life without purpose, and therefore without hope, without courage, and without enthusiasm.

So silent and unconsciously is this influence working, that we may forget that it exists. All the forces of Nature — heat, light, electricity, and gravitation — are silent and invisible. We never see them; we only know that they exist by seeing the effects they produce.

Inspirational Podcast Excerpt: Lying in bed would be an altogether perfect and supreme experience, if only one had a colored pencil long enough to draw on the ceiling. This, however, is not generally a part of the domestic apparatus.

I have fancied that it might be accomplished with several buckets of paint and a broom. But if one worked in a really sweeping and masterly way, and laid on the color in great washes, it might drip down again on one’s face in floods of rich and mingled color like some strange fairy rain; and that would have its disadvantages. I am afraid it is necessary to stick to pencil drawing for this form of artistic expression.

Podcast Excerpt: In the smallest particle of matter is mirrored the infinitely great. The atom (with its ever busy group of electrons) is a minute replica of our solar system. The little worlds and the gigantic ones are copies of the whole.

We, too, are an embodiment of the universe. All human beings have elements and characteristics corresponding to the higher and lower orders of every created thing. Material science tells us that the human body contains a portion of all the elements in the sun, the earth, and the air.

It is a fact that we are reservoirs: dynamos of tremendous, concentrated, creative, latent energy. That which moves the world of people and things is within you. You have a gold mine awaiting development. You are a giant of power if you only knew it.
