What if the best leadership lessons didn’t come from business school—but from the circus ring? In this unforgettable episode of Inspire & Impact, host Daniel Rosenstein sits down with the remarkable Dave “Letterfly” Knoderer, a former circus performer, classical horseman, artist, author, and mentor whose life journey reads like a movie.
For 25 years, Dave traveled across North America performing under the big top. He trained horses, worked alongside aerialists, magicians, musicians, clowns, and daredevils—and learned lessons about leadership, teamwork, trust, vulnerability, and courage that few people ever get to see. His experiences are not only fascinating—they offer powerful insight into how we lead, create, innovate, and grow.
In this conversation, Dave reveals the hidden truth behind circus life and how the “living, breathing organism” of the circus reflects everything happening inside businesses, teams, families, and communities today. You’ll discover why the circus was the perfect training ground for understanding vision, collaboration, creativity, and adaptability.
• The untold reality of circus culture
Dave shares how the circus is far more than entertainment. It’s a delicate system of trust, risk, responsibility, discipline, and unity—exactly what every workplace needs.
• Leadership lessons from the big top
Discover how performers synchronize under pressure, how trainers build trust with powerful animals, and how chaotic environments reveal the core of great leadership.
• Vulnerability, trust, and faith—the three pillars of extraordinary leadership
Dave explains why vulnerability drives innovation, why trust is the currency of effective teams, and why faith (taking action before you feel ready) is essential for entrepreneurship.
• How hidden talents get buried in teams
You’ll learn why employees often hide their creativity, brilliance, or potential—and how leaders can create environments where people feel safe to contribute their best.
• Dave’s personal transformation
He opens up about growing up afraid, introverted, and socially isolated—and how the circus became the catalyst for his confidence, purpose, and creative evolution.
• Creativity as a professional skill
Dave talks about painting custom murals on motorhomes and motorcycles, teaching artistic workshops, mentoring others, and helping people unlock the imagination inside them.
• How leaders can find their “standing ovation moment”
Dave explains what it means to perform at your peak, take courageous action, and earn the equivalent of a standing ovation in business and life.

What You’ll Hear in This Episode:
Step into a conversation where imagination becomes a doorway, faith fuels creativity, and fantasy stories carry real-world meaning. In this powerful episode of Inspire and Impact, host Daniel Rosenstein sits down with East Texas author Jack Borden, the creator of The Dixie Chronicles—a YA fantasy series that blends Irish mythology, deep emotional storytelling, and the enchanted forests of Jack’s childhood.
Jack opens up about growing up exploring creeks, woods, and small-town Texas landscapes that would someday form the foundation for an entire fantasy world. From reading The Indian in the Cupboard, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Hobbit, and Lord of the Rings, Jack felt early on that books weren’t just entertainment—they were portals. Decades later, those same influences infused his own writing as he created a realm where tiny fairy-folk, ancient legends, and courageous siblings face danger, loss, hope, prophecy, and redemption.
In this heartfelt interview, Jack reveals how The Dixie Chronicles began as a quiet idea that lived in the corner of his imagination… until it demanded to be written. What started as one book evolved into a seven-book saga filled with mystery, world-building, ancient lore, spiritual themes, and emotional depth. Jack walks through his writing journey—from the first manuscript written in 2019, to rewriting entire books, to releasing four novels in four months on Amazon, to the much-anticipated book five, The Plant of Death, released on November 1, 2025.
You’ll hear how Jack balances being a husband, father, church servant, business owner, and writer. He shares his down-to-earth writing routine, how he squeezes creativity into late-evening hours, why he never rushes his books to market, and why professional editing and reader experience matter deeply to him. Jack talks openly about handling criticism, trusting his voice as an author, and how conversations with his children spark fresh ideas, inspiration, and laughter.
One of the most touching moments is Jack describing how his daughter, after hearing his stories, said the world felt so real she wondered if the Dixies actually lived in the woods behind their home. Another moment: learning that a young reader spent days running around his house, sword in hand, pretending to be Killian. These moments, Jack says, are why he writes—to move people, to ignite imagination, to create stories that make children and adults believe in something bigger than themselves.
Throughout the episode, Jack reflects on themes of faith, purpose, loyalty, courage, suffering, and redemption. He shares how his own family’s challenges—including his daughter’s multiple open-heart surgeries—shaped the emotional landscape of his books. Darkness exists, he says, but so does hope. So does transformation. So does unexpected grace. That belief is woven into every chapter he writes.
Whether you’re a fantasy lover, aspiring author, parent, creative thinker, world-builder, or someone who believes stories can heal and inspire, this episode will spark your imagination and speak to your heart. It’s a reminder that storytelling is more than entertainment—it’s impact. It’s legacy. It’s faith meeting creativity to form something truly meaningful.

What does it take to rise after everything seems lost — after abuse, heartbreak, cancer, and years of pain? In this deeply moving episode of the Inspire & Impact Podcast, host Daniel Rosenstein sits down with Danielle Anderson, an author, chef, teacher, and praise leader whose life story is a powerful testimony of God’s grace, perseverance, and transformation.
Danielle’s journey begins in North Carolina, growing up as the daughter of a single mother, longing for a father’s love, and searching for acceptance in all the wrong places. Her experiences led her through years of emotional struggle, an abusive relationship, and a stage 4 cancer diagnosis — yet none of these challenges could destroy her spirit.
In her award-winning memoir, From Darkness to Light: How I Won the Battle for My Body, Danielle shares how faith, forgiveness, and purpose helped her rise from despair to hope. Her story reminds us that even when life crushes you, God can use the pressure to turn you from coal into a diamond.
💎 In this conversation, Danielle opens up about:
Growing up without a father and how that shaped her search for love.
How writing became her escape and her pathway to healing.
The moment she surrendered everything to God and began her transformation.
Surviving seven years of abuse — and finding the courage to walk away.
Overcoming stage 4 cervical cancer and later sarcoidosis through faith.
The miracle that saved her son’s life when she followed a divine nudge to pray.
Her work as a teacher, chef, and mentor — now known as “Chef D” to her students.
The powerful metaphor of the diamond: how we are refined through pressure, pain, and perseverance.
This episode is a must-listen for anyone who has ever felt broken, lost, or hopeless — and is looking for a reminder that your story isn’t over yet. Danielle’s words shine with raw truth, compassion, and divine wisdom.
✨ Key Takeaway:
“A piece of coal and a diamond are the same thing — but one goes through the fire to become what it’s meant to be. Which one do you want to be?”

Looking for a raw, hopeful, and deeply practical conversation about illness, leadership, and living an “epic” life? In this episode of Inspire & Impact, Professor Matt Kutz (Florida International University) joins host Daniel Rosenstein to walk us through his prostate cancer diagnosis, the mental and spiritual tools that helped him persevere, and the lessons that changed how he leads, loves, and lives.
▶️ What you’ll hear
The moment Matt learned the diagnosis—how routine care revealed something unexpected—and the shock of discovering the cancer had already spread.
The physical and emotional reality of treatment: surgery, 40 days of radiation, and the brutal side effects of medication.
How journaling 1,000 words/day for 40 days became a lifeline—and led to two books: Becoming Epic and Diagnosed: It’s Not Your Battle To Fight Alone.
Matt’s core frameworks to stay grounded: EPIC (Excellence · Perception · Inspiration · Compassion) and BATTLE (Be Brave · Armor Up · Trust Your Team · Triumph Over Fear · Lean Into Faith · Engage in Life).
Why “chaos is the package your potential arrives in,” and how to turn disruption into growth.
The difference between resilience and antifragility—and how to get stronger because of stress, not merely bounce back.
Honest talk about shame, incontinence, and sexual side effects after prostate cancer—and why men often skip screenings and support because they’re embarrassed.
Practical mindset tools: journaling, walking, vulnerability, faith, and choosing excellence over perfection.
▶️ Key quotes
“Chaos is the package your potential arrives in.”
“Excellence is not perfection—everyone can be excellent.”
“Compassion is walking with pain and suffering; pain is not meaningless—it can make you better.”
▶️ Who is Matt Kutz?
Matt is a longtime professor, published author, global academic leader, and speaker whose work spans sports medicine, leadership, and human performance. After his diagnosis he wrote intensely about leadership, legacy, and the habits that create a meaningful life. He and his wife also launched the nonprofit Battle for the Bulge to raise prostate cancer awareness and support men and families.
▶️ Actionable takeaways
When life feels chaotic, inventory what needs to change—chaos often signals where your potential is waiting.
Use EPIC daily: pursue excellence (not perfection), practice 3D perception (hindsight · insight · foresight), inspire yourself and others, and choose compassion—for yourself and for others.
In crisis, think BATTLE: Be Brave, Armor Up (guard your mind), Trust Your Team, Triumph Over Fear, Lean Into Faith (or core values), Engage in Life.
Journaling and honest conversation are not weakness—they’re a path to clarity, connection, and healing.
Reframe setbacks as inputs to antifragility: allow the stressor to rebuild you stronger.

What does it take to rebuild a life after everything changes in a single play? At 20 years old, Cornell engineering student and lightweight football player Ken Kunken broke his neck on a kickoff tackle vs. Columbia, sustaining a C4–C5 spinal cord injury and losing almost all movement and sensation below his shoulders. Fifty-plus years later, Ken is a Cornell graduate (the first quadriplegic to graduate from the university), a two-time Ivy League master’s degree holder, a Hofstra Law J.D., and a long-time Nassau County Assistant District Attorney who tried major cases and mentored dozens of interns. He testified before a U.S. Senate Health Subcommittee chaired by Senator Edward Kennedy, received letters of recognition from leaders including President Nixon, and later had two awards named in his honor. Oh—and he’s a proud husband and father of triplets.
In this powerful conversation, Ken shares the mindset, systems, and support that helped him transform tragedy into service—long before the Americans with Disabilities Act made campuses and courtrooms accessible. We talk resilience, memory training, inclusion (DEI) as a community multiplier, the courtroom realities of trying cases from a wheelchair, and the everyday love story of raising three boys with his wife, Anna.
You’ll learn:
How Ken returned to Cornell just 10 months after injury, navigating ~100 steps on day one before curb cuts and ramps were standard
Why a rehab pamphlet that once suggested “telephone magazine sales” as his only career path became fuel—not fate
The pivot from engineering → counseling → trial law, and what finally opened the first door
Practical memory tactics (Harry Lorayne & Jerry Lucas methods) that leveled up his trial prep
The deeper case for DEI: how inclusion lifts everyone who encounters it
Fatherhood moments that matter—like a 7-year-old calmly helping Dad through a blood pressure episode in a crowded store
The real definition of success: using your gifts to make other people’s lives better

What if everything you’ve been told about mindset… was incomplete?
In this powerful episode of Inspire & Impact: The Podcast Interviews, host Daniel Rosenstein sits down with behavioral researcher, educator, and mind model creator Blair Dunkley to explore a game-changing approach to transformation, growth, and getting unstuck.
With over 50 years of experience in human behavior, neuroscience, and applied psychology, Blair has worked with Fortune 500 executives, entrepreneurs, trauma survivors, and everyday people — helping them go beyond traditional mindset coaching and step into something far more effective: Mind Models.
💡 What Are Mind Models?
Mind models are tested, practical frameworks that show you not what to think — but how to think. Unlike mindset, which relies heavily on belief, hope, and repetition, mind models are behavior-driven tools you can apply instantly in real life, even when you’re depressed, overwhelmed, or stuck in self-sabotage.
✅ Why mindset often fails when we need it most — and what to use instead
✅ The difference between judging yourself and evaluating your behavior
✅ How to shift from the “Why loop” (which keeps you stuck) to forward action
✅ How Blair helped one woman overcome 10 years of depression in just 2 sessions
✅ The “Three E’s” framework: Effective vs. Ineffective, External vs. Internal, Evaluation vs. Judgment
✅ How neuroscience supports behavior-first change
✅ How to become resourceful — not reliant on willpower or positive thinking
✅ Why people quit after just 1.2 attempts — and how to change that
Blair isn’t just another coach with clever catchphrases. He’s developed language-based profiling systems, designed proprietary behavioral assessments, and trained teams at some of the world’s most demanding companies. He also ran a school that helped thousands of students (many potentially suicidal) shift their behavior and rewire how they think.
He’s the author of Ultimate Mind Hacking and the upcoming Phobia Freedom Formula, blending neuroscience, behavioral science, and thought-field therapy into practical tools for anyone ready to transform their life — quickly and sustainably.
Most personal development advice sounds like:
“Just believe in yourself.”
“Change your mindset.”
“Rewire your thoughts.”
“Think positive!”
But what happens when belief isn’t enough? What if you’re stuck in a pattern so deep that willpower and positivity don’t move the needle?
That’s where mind models come in.
This episode shows you how to:
Replace guilt with clarity
Replace judgment with action
Replace “what’s wrong with me?” with “what works for me?”
You don’t have to believe they work. You just have to use them.
Compare & contrast language patterns
Behavior-first thinking
Ubiquitous models you can use anywhere: relationships, business, self-talk, conflict resolution
Replacing “Why” with “What might I do differently now?”
Shifting your language to shift your neurology (yes, literally)
Coaches, leaders, and entrepreneurs who feel stuck or burnt out
Anyone struggling with procrastination, self-doubt, or emotional overwhelm
People with anxiety, phobias, or trauma
Those who feel traditional mindset and therapy methods haven’t worked
Curious minds looking for a scientific, structured, and practical path forward
