Born and raised in a small town in British Columbia, Canada, Nina Charley grew up with little to no black people in her surroundings. As a woman of color, this was a very tough experience. She tells us her story on the meaning behind her passion for human rights, and how she used her personal experience to help others. From an insecure little girl, to a proud black woman, who became the first to organize a BLM protest in her hometown, lead director of the rise bridge project, spokesperson for the Ottawa black diaspora coalition and all this while studying at the university of Ottawa, she leaves us on one note.
