It’s International Jams Tuesday, and today we’re going back to Germany — Koblenz, 6/22/97 — for a show that’s got one set AND STEVE WINWOOD didn't even come join the band.

We’re not gonna pretend to have dissected every note of this thing. We just pressed play and kind of, well, disappeared for a while. The band hits a vibe and stays there. Hey boys and girls, it’s Big Money Friday, and yes  Nick and Matt are back!

For the second week in a row, they actually did what they said they were going to do. That’s five days of structure, insight, nonsense, and more than a few questionable tangent all wrapped into a damn good time.

But today is Big Money Friday, and we’ve got something special. Our friends over at Phish Radio hit us with the 411 on a big show they’re airing this weekend, and you already know we’re diving into it.

Matt’s taking the lead on this mostly because Nick was actually at the show and is still emotionally recovering. It happens.

This week’s internet swirl brings us one big, juicy question that’s been echoing across the web, and group chats.....:

Is Phish becoming predictable?

It started casual at first, but the comments piled up fast. Fans debated everything from setlist structure to jam styles, with some arguing that certain transitions are starting to feel a little too familiar. Others pushed back, saying predictability doesn’t mean stale — it means intentional, refined, even comforting.

Matt says the structure gives the improvisation more contrast. Nick thinks it’s time to bring back some chaos. Someone online said the only predictable thing about Phish is that Trey will smile at Page every time the jam gets weird. Honestly? Fair.

Whatever side you're on, it's clear this band still inspires passion. Because if we’re arguing over jam placement and song rotation, it means we still care — a lot.

All the way back in 1992, Phish found themselves in Denmark, and let’s just say maybe something was rotten.

While playing a festival, Trey had a thought. "We could do this, but better." And with that idea, the legendary Phish Festivals were born. True story.
