Trey looked healthier. Mike wore a vest. Fish showed up in a dress. Page kept his sleeves rolled all the way down again. 

As 2025 starts to close here is what we know. 

Not counting Big Cypress, the highest rated Phish show ever happened this July at SPAC. No shock there. 

Zero Phish debuts. Shocking.

Finally, As you get ready for tonight take a second. Be grateful. Feel blessed. You are loved. If this year taught us (Insuphishient) anything it is that Trey has made you a community, a home.

It is December 26 and the New Years engine is already running.

I could be wrong but I swear this is how it goes. Phish wakes up, meets at MSG, and the whole city clicks into that special frequency. Trey is quietly building the gag. Mike is already in the zone. Fish is steering the ship with a grin. Page is turning normal air into electricity. Four friends, one room, one mission. New Years mode.

And that is exactly where Insuphishient lives today.

This episode is a little peek behind the curtain. Not a lecture. Not a recap. More like you are standing in the hallway while the band warms up and the building starts breathing. We have had some heaters over the years, but if you want the feeling that the run is about to begin, this is the one.

To be completely honest I did not actually listen to this episode before writing this, so I have no idea what those two idiots Nick and Matt recorded today.

In classic Insuphishient fashion they sent it to me at 11:42 PM on Christmas Eve. Literally as I was getting into bed. So you know what. Forget those guys. I hope you the listener have a very merry Christmas. Matt and Nick can absolutely eat it.

That said, Trey, Mike, Fish and Page, Happy Holidays. Thank you for everything you have given us over the years and especially this year. And especially S.P.A.C. That was awesome.

Anyway I am assuming this episode is about homemade eggnog or something equally ridiculous.

Ladies and gentlemen yes Insuphishient is back and yes it somehow feels better than ever. Possibly because today they barely talk about Phish at all. It is the holiday season. The air is thick. Schedules are broken. Brains are full. A lot is going on and somehow all of it makes its way into the room.

Matt and Nick wander through seasonal chaos, life updates, sideways thoughts, and the general hum of December before eventually remembering there is a band involved. When they do get there it lands. Calm. Loose. Surprisingly right on time. The kind of episode that sneaks up on you and ends up being exactly what you needed.

It is warm. It is messy. It is Insuphishient.

Today on a very special Insuphishient: 

It’s Friday and the vibe is a little tipsy, fuddled, in the best possible way. Matt and Nick are elevated, the room feels full, and joining the chaos is a special guest. Scott.

Prime edits did fly (h)early. The conversation moves fast and then slower, swelling into those fat bulk expanse moments where everything seems important at once. Some thoughts get stranded. Others come back level headed but still carrying a warning. You better bend it (Beckham) or you miss it.

Scott drops in and shifts the energy without trying. The takes get warmer, the edges get softer, and the episode drifts into that sweet spot where nothing feels forced and everything feels learned.

Rare is the time that Matt and Nick talk about anything not Phish related. Today is no exception.  As we get closer and closer to the last shows of the year, Insuphishient is going to look back on some New Years shows of the past.  

Basically ranking 2009 - 2019.  You are welcome. 

Then Nick has a new game and let's face it, that is usually the best part of your week (Trey).

In the first iteration of Insuphishient, Matt and Nick had more structure. More games. More bits. They said Poster Nutbag a lot. People liked it.

Then the guys took a break. When they came back, some people said Matt and Nick were never better. The show loosened up. Segments started to flow. Wordplay sharpened. A little unpredictability crept in and slowly took the wheel.

Then the show went dark. For a while. Insuphishient disappeared. The Snowball sat collecting dust. Bad takes were kept to themselves. ChatGPT grew bored and lonely.

And then, like a phoenix that did not send a press release, your favorite Phish talk show came back. No warning. No rollout. Just back. Some said it was better than ever. Others said the peak was years ago. Both things can be true.

What we do know is this. We play fewer stupid games than ever. And somehow it feels like we are putting out some of the best shows we have made. A renaissance... 

Things change. Things stay the same.

Well kids, you did it. There are only three Fridays left in 2025 and somehow today is one of them. How are Matt and Nick celebrating. By phoning it in. Not really. But also really. If that makes no sense, good. Listen and it will all become clear. Clear like a bone broth. Kuckle Avenue style.

Speaking of bone broths. Have you made your own yet. We have. And today Matt delivers the do’s and donts of turning bones into liquid wisdom. Then Nick tries to sing the YEM lyrics backwards and accidentally summons something he cannot control.

Yes folks you heard correctly. It is Matt’s birthday and in true Insuphishient fashion we are celebrating with maximum confusion and questionable decision making. We even reached out to Mike to see if he wanted to come on. Nick insists it was an imposter on TikTok. But let me ask you this. Would an imposter like a direct message and then refuse to respond with actual words. And if it is an imposter, what is the long game here. Impersonating Mike Gordon for sport. Or maybe it really is him.

Either way Matt is having a birthday and we are going to celebrate like it is 1986, one year after Page joins the band. A private three set show that somehow only exists in audio form and absolutely demands your attention.
