Yes the old song from Peggy Lee reminds us that indeed we need to have a good and healthy heart.  And I've been thinking about that a lot because  just 10 minutes before I put this program together on this future day Friday I picked up my wife who just had a major heart procedure that will save her life.  And I cannot believe how grateful I am and that there are millions of people in the world who do not have access to the healthcare that I have, who would just suffer and die.  So can I share some heartfelt thoughts about taking care of my heart and being grateful...

And that's a good thing to do right now because right now in 22 we are at half time and so take some time this weekend to think how you're gonna live with heartfelt gratitude and power and energy to make the second half of the year a far better year for you and the ones you love.

It was when I was doing late night radio broadcasting around the world mostly the people who couldn't sleep at night or perhaps we're working the night shift that I learned the power of four words.  And if you are trying to sell yourself your business or encourage people to buy from you and your company, you will want to know these four words. 

So indeed I'm sure this program is just for you, and in 15 minutes I'll tell you the story and probably help you do some things that will clue you in to the way the world is in the way you perhaps can make more friends and influence and impact more people.  Please remember that if you want to be successful you have to take 15 or 20 minutes to learn something new every day.  And we can help you do just that.

 I think he's still a friend but I haven't seen him for a while but after coaching him and counseling him through a really difficult patch in life, whenever I would ask him how he is, he would say, "I'm happy."  And that truly was the case and as a result his business that was failing when I worked with him, grew and he prospered and prospered  some more and more happiness came into his life. 

Today I'd like to talk about a new report that came out that said that there is more unhappiness in the world than ever. Then I would like to ask you, could it be true that education today is a waste of time and money.  And the way we do it today, I think it just might be... And maybe it's time for your business to appoint a CHO.

 As a longtime business performance coach I often times told people to leave other people alone on Monday morning and at least wait till Monday afternoon if you have to talk to them.  That is why I push my podcast later in the day so that after the day is just about done you can take a few minutes for reflection, maybe something to learn, maybe something to make you smile or just think about. 

And so in my 15 minutes today I am going to talk about a coming Supreme Court decision that will be about a High school coach that lost his job because he prayed.  We will get the details.  And I wants heard of a longtime politician who was described by someone who didn't care for him as a man whose political life had no redeeming social value.  Well that's kind of a high hard one, but it got me to wonder about value, about personal value, social value, and most importantly spiritual value. I do a lot of things in life and I have to ask whether they are valuable and whether they are useful.  So this little presentation might be helpful to you in the week ahead of you.  

Yes the title is right. I often say that Friday is the day we think about our future and I'm doing just that. In the future I'm not going to have any more birthdays.  But before I do that on this Friday let us have our final lesson this week and what it means, or at least what it might mean to be a person a real class. And today I want to share with you the story of two books that changed my life that I found in recycling barrels and garage sales that have affected me deeply.  And one of the books told me about the great and powerful word poise, POISE.

So part of my life and my teaching to my students and clients is to challenge them to seek ways to live and work in such a way that they could have that great human and spiritual quality called POISE, and then with a smile remind them of my Arizona life in which it was said that the mark of a cowboy was, he walked tall.

There's an old ancient prayer that goes something like this, "Lord deliver me from all fretfulness." I love that because it says it, Don't Fret.

Today as we flow out of turbulence Thursday I'd like to talk to you about being a person of real class.  I have a wonderful story about a young police officer showed a major organization what it means to be a man class midst of the chaos that they caused.  Then from an old book that I started 15 years ago that still needs to be completed on how to be a coach I want to read from one of my favorite little essays, indeed a bit of a poem.  It's called The Majesty of Calmness.  It is wonderfully challenging and comforting and it's something but if you're smart you'll carry with you for the rest of your life.  Indeed as I often say "the world steps aside for the man or woman who calmly knows who they are, where they are going, and is walking tall to a great purpose."  Take time to listen today and then tomorrow I will follow it up by telling you about my final birthday.

 I try to never leave the movie theater at the end of the program or show, I prefer to wait until almost everybody is gone and the credits are done. Let me tell you why I do that.  And we are talking about class, true class this week and seeking to describe it, discover it, and maybe even be that.  Indeed, what is real class?

Unfortunately so many people today are doing work and life in what I call the karaoke mode.  It's not their song, it's not their idea, it's not their way of living and performing and doing something truly creative unique, creative and a bit dangerous.  They are a part of the karaoke world and all they're doing is what everybody else is doing and has done before.  Perhaps you might want to think about singing your own song and truly living your own life.  Just an idea for your thought and consideration and indeed it is an interesting idea.

I bit my lip and didn't say anything to the person who treated me very poorly, but I admit I wanted to say, "that was not only low class that was no class whatsoever."  And I always ask myself when I do something with or for another would I ever want them to think or say that to me or about me.  I encourage you to make that a personal discipline in this coming age of chaos confusion, and I'm afraid possible violence.  So that's the deal for today: may I ask what does it mean to be world class, which is an aspiration I gave to many of my students. And on a personal level what does it mean to say that a person has real class, they are the real deal.  Does having lots of money and lots of nice things mean that you are classy. 

It's a busy Tuesday so our program is only 10 minutes and I'm going to ask you on the basis of some of my ideas for you to take time to decide what it means to be world-class and if you want to be a person of class.

 Is there anything that you can be certain of in the somewhat perilous times. Many of the people who pontificate on the economic situation say that inflation will now be followed by a possible significant recession.  And those are two things that will cause great disruption and dislocation in peoples lives.

Can I give you a little old fashion performance coaching about what I call the MSII Factor.  And I will also go back to a statement I made many times from my life in "experimental living."  God wants you to be an entrepreneur or at least think like one.  Well you've had a busy Monday and take 15 minutes to see if I can help you think about some important things for the coming week.  I can assure you that in June 2020 when Joe Biden was running to be president that he never could have thought  his life would be like it is in June 2022. His presidency is shattered and he will not be remembered very well at all.  That one reason  why we ask people to think clearly and prayerfully about the future they hope to create every Friday. 

And in our future we hope to create a way for people to learn how to powerfully pray and think about their future.  The podcast program will be called, More Power to You.  And in preparing for that program, my good friend, Pastor Daniel Messner encouraged me to go back and read and pray the Lord's prayer in a new in modern Way as found in the Biblical narrative called The Message.  So that is where our random thoughts will bring us on this Friday flowing into the weekend.

Please take 15 minutes this weekend to let some of these thoughts sit on your head for a while and perhaps stir your mind.
