Renowned Visual Storyteller and Founder of African Skies Media, Siphiwe Mhlambi tells his inspirational story of life of adverse poverty to becoming an internationally acclaimed photographer and archivist. Siphiwe is a Multiple award-winning photographer and self-taught jazz archivist, his exceptional talent in storytelling was too grand for The Sowetan to pass on even though he didn’t have an ID at the time. His professional career started as a photojournalist where he was known for captivating work from documenting the history of South Africa, spanning the Apartheid era to the present day. He has captured the history of South Africa through his lens. From the children dancing in the dusty townships of South Africa to kings, presidents, and statesmen of the world. Siphiwe's work uniquely captures the emotional depth and cultural essence of jazz, showcasing the musicians and their performances in a way that transcends mere images. In 2024 Siphiwe received an esteemed award from the Jazz World Photo competition in Trutnov, Czech Republic.
