Attorney Eric Mirabel who practices trademark and intellectual property explain the legal issues both Kanye and Adidas face. After adidas severed its historic and profitable partnership with Ye, the question arose whether or not the German brand was going to continue selling the artist’s vast array of sneaker designs to the masses.

Ye’s holding company, Mascotte Holdings, Inc., owns the trademarks to the Yeezy brand name  - adidas owns all things design patent related to adidas Yeezy footwear designs with the one exception being the adidas Yeezy Slide, which is owned by Ye.
