We welcome The Wandering Hearts – who are made up of the wondrous talented trio of AJ Dean-Revington, Chess Whiffin, and Tara Wilcox, onto IUF. This London-based group are coming out the gates running with their highly-anticipated self-titled 2nd studio album. Mixed with pop and acoustic sounds that remind you of Greta Van Fleet, The Well Pennies, and Fleetwood Mac – The Wandering Hearts are now making their own unique stamp inside the world of folk and americana. This is episode, we ask AJ, Chess, and Tara about their origins on how they first met, and how the uncanny chemistry just clicked from day 1. It's only been 6 years in the making, but as of now they have already shared the stages with Robert Plant, Mumford & Sons, and Tom Petty to name a few – and they have been grateful for every opportunity given. And speaking of opportunity, this album had one particular song that had a dream collaboration they didn't see coming. That collaboration, ironically, was on the song “Dreams” which features country legend stars Marty Stuart and Connie Smith. This was a song unlike any other and at the same time was performed to excellence. If there is any such thing as passing the torch from one generation to another, believe us, The Wandering Hearts are ready to build on their young successes. No limit is set for them, and the new album is sure to turn the heads of many in this world in their direction. We are joined by a prolific drummer in Austin Archey from the New Jersey deathcore quartet, Lorna Shore. Here we are in a new chapter for the band a decade after their birth – but not without the adversity which was faced in that timeframe. Austin sits with us to talk about the band's eventful journey filled with the high and lows that have molded them into who they are today; They're ready for whatever may come. The band's recent lineup change came unplanned yet the new territory was a blessing in disguise, especially with knowing how well the previous release, “Immortal,” was perceived by their fans. Their new vocalist Will Ramos is the perfect fit and Austin could not be more satisfied to see the page turn with a new member and a new album to cement their latest and monstrous sound. There's heavy, and then there's Lorna Shore's newest EP, “...And I Return To Nothingness,” which features a new vocal range of talent from Will Ramos. WHAT IS THIS SORCERY?! That's right, we are talking about the debut album from the majestic metal supergroup, Wizardthrone. Guitarist Mike Barber sits with us today as we talk about the origins of this newest collaboration. Mike, coming from bands like Gloryhammer and Death Code Society, joined forces with members of Aether Realm, Alestorm, Nekrogoblikon, and Forlorn Citadel to form one of the more exciting projects that will give each metal fan a smile from ear to ear. The new album, titled “Hypercube Necrodimensions” will take you to a galaxy millions of light years away (no, we don't mean Star Wars) into this wacky sci-fi multiverse fused with elements of death metal, power metal, thrash and symphonic metal. There isn't a song on here that will make you want to stop headbanging while applying to the School of Hogwarts. Within this organized chaos of music satisfaction, Mike also takes us through the themes of HP Lovecraft that were a valuable expansion of their sounds and lyricism on the record. “I put pressure on myself every single day.” Veiga Sanchez, commonly known as the captivating Salt Ashes, holds nothing back. The London-based singer-songwriter chats with IUF about her journey up to this point in her career. Her latest single, “Too Many Times” just dropped, and tackling tender subjects like anxiety and insecurity are important themes which are heard throughout the lyricism. On the verge of releasing her debut album at 19 years old – New York based singer-songwriter Ameliarose is feeling the nervousness settling in, but ready take on the world. Not an easy thing to do having self-produced your own album at this age, but here she is doing what she does best, and she's doing it well. Amelia has seen through the ins and outs of the music industry at a young age, which include multiple touring cycles and making an appearance in the popular singing competition show American Idol that landed her in the top 68 out of 200k with a golden ticket to Hollywood. Quite the resume, yet her focus and determination continue to build. During this pandemic, Amelia has amassed over 1000 hours (and counting) of dedicated live streaming, and in result, has gained national attention as her fanbase has grown within that time frame. Her debut album “Dead Moths In My Sugar” is set to drop later this summer, and we get the opportunity to dive into the production and songwriting process that went behind this record. This album is straight from the heart, as she tackles themes of anxiety and toxic relationships and beyond; If there was any such thing as a blueprint for a debut outing – here's one you will not want to miss. Revered music publications like Guitar World and Loudwire have praised the work of renowned artist Bobby Keller, and for good reason. The Colorado-born & Orlando-based axe shredder has been influenced by the likes of Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, and Dimebag Darrell. Now being lauded by many as one the top guitarists in the USA – it's time the baton is handed over to the next generation of heavy metal artists like himself. Now residing in Orlando, Florida, Bobby takes us through his own personal journey that got him to this point. From touring with bands like Evanescence, Gojira, and Korn throughout his career, building his skillset in that duration, and a personal loss of the passing of his beloved father – it's the culmination of those experiences and countless others that has him built to continue constructing the best version of himself. We welcome the talented drummer Niklas Kahl from German gothic metal outfit Lord Of The Lost. Talk about a return to normality, because releasing a double album after a worldwide pandemic is how it's done! We jump right into the fray with Niklas about “Judas,” the new album that features two sides named “Damnation” and “Salvation," culminating a total of 24 songs on this output. This is Lord Of The Lost's 7th album, and there is that natural maturation on the sound we get to really learn about from Niklas. Even though he hasn't been with the band throughout the whole history, being one of the newer members allowed him to give this band a breath of fresh air in their impressive catalog. The double album is enriched in not only the gothic and dark metal atmospheres, but bringing in elements of grand piano tunes, strings, and choirs may have cemented “Judas” as their magnum opus. We begin the 9th season of IUF with a remarkable talent in Dutch singer-songwriter Charlotte Wessels. It's been a wild ride for Charlotte in the last 15 months – from the onset of the pandemic and to parting ways with her band, Delain, she's now unlocked a side of her that she never saw coming, and for the better. Within this last year, she has created a Patreon which has allowed her to connect with hundreds of her passionate fans in ways she couldn't in the past. This is also evidence on manifesting her debut solo album that she is gearing up to drop soon, and we get the chance to ask her about everything that went behind the creation of this record. Snuggled away in her Six Feet Under studio in the Netherlands, she tapped into an improved version of herself that she is grateful for. The new album, titled “Tales From Six Feet Under” is full of eclectic feelings of emotion, power, wisdom, and from the heart. It's time to wake up, because the Michigan-based heavy metal band Sleep Waker have returned with their 2nd studio album, “Alias.” Drummer and songwriter Frankie Mish joins IUF as we close the chapter here on Season 8. Sleep Waker got their start in 2017 along with the idea of the band name serving as a constant theme throughout the lyricism. The creativity within Frankie and his bandmates never came to a standstill as the writing stages for “Alias” went through impressive segments and ideas that the members bounced off of one another. Frankie also talks about how cinematic impressions of art gave “Alias” the push it needed before rounding it out into its final form – grabbing influences from The Matrix, Blade Runner, and Ghost In The Shell to name a few. As he continues to make the music he loves, Frankie also uses his time doing graphic design and photography, which have provided him a new sense to be crafty and feed that passion into the band. Florida-based post-metalcore band Capstan have returned with their highly-anticipated 2nd studio album “Separate,” set to drop July 23 via Fearless Records. We are joined by bassist Andrew “Boz” Bozymowski to help us take a deeper look into the makings behind this beast of a sophomore record. The idea of pressure isn't something Boz sees for the band once they entered the studio to record a follow-up, but rather, an opportunity to build from their debut outing on the 2019's “Restless Heart, Keep Running.” Combining sub-genres of progressive post-hardcore, pop punk, prog rock, and metalcore is something that came naturally with this talented quintet. Boz talks about that evolution to their sound which was helped bring to life by renowned producer Machine. As the recipe for this album comes together, Boz looks forward to getting back out there into the touring life with his bandmates to bring the new tunes to the fans. The path to “Separate” wasn't easy, as it never is – and we get the chance to also dive into his younger days in college where the beginnings of Capstan took shape.
