Coach Easley takes us through his coaching journey after talking about how he's having conversations with his team during these times of racial injustice. He talks about his playing days in high school as well as at Austin Peay as well as after graduating from college and working a 9-5 and coaching some youth basketball on the side. Coach Easley was hired at UT Martin and then from there spent the better part of a decade in North Carolina coaching NCAA D1 as well as a stint with Team Loaded. He returned to his home state of Tennessee as an Assistant Coach at Chattanooga before facing adversity and taking a year off from coaching and opens up about the uncertainty of his resuming his coaching career prior to being offered the HC job at Life University (NAIA). We talk about the trying to end the stigma of black coaches being labeled as "recruiters" rather than "basketball coaches". Great stuff in this interview!!
