As you tune in today, may you reflect on days when your parents served with no complaints, no murmur but fully charged up and on fire for the Lord. How we serve today has become a somewhat high and mighty title thing, a favourite group member thing, a want to impress with emphasis on how much you tithe and in whose special social network you belong. According to Jesus the real heroes and the ones he values, are the people who help others. You will find individuals doing great work not seen nor heard but being a blessing to many and are discreet and who give of their time. May God give us a heart to serve others, not expecting anything in return, reward or to impress. In fact just last night I was sharing with another Pastor friend how my mother did mission work, and at a young tender age exposed me to the plight and hardship of others. She would teach and sing and her major premise was to serve. In fact they laid the foundation and without me knowing, carved a footprint for me today. And looking back what hard shoes to fill. My parents and mission group didn't reach out to gain recognition or to earn a prize on the contrary, they did so with a heartfelt desire to serve, thus molding those values into us. Now, its your and my turn but how we do, determines the condition of our hearts and are we willing to be used. Thus giving back has become a way of life. Because of my parents example, Into The Garden is a labour of love to reach one teach one empower one inspire one to dream, dare, do and become. We cannot do this on our own but thanks be to God, we get a long. So, our hearts bleed to do more, to spread love more, reach more, teach more and eradicate more. What's the secret to happiness? 1st Thessalonians 5:16 says 'Always be joyful.' So, have you ever felt you had more than your fair share of problems? Join us on Conquer Wednesday whilst listening to a Soulful meditation penned Choose joy, Choose happiness. Sometimes it's our attitude towards the burdens weighing us down. At most we carry and focus on the mountain of problems we have, instead of trusting and asking God to restore the happiness and joy back. Even though our circumstances might remain the same, despite the burdens thank God, bless God and soon over time you will see small results again. You will feel empowered to take control of your thoughts and emotions rather than let them control you and rob you of your happiness. So, as I was prompted the beginning of the year to 'Speak to God More,' I was retraining my mind to God's generosity instead of life's letdowns. And as you tune in relax your mind and in your quiet state, thank God, praise God and ask God. So 'always be joyful' even when life gives you lemons, when people hurt us or when our circumstances seem hopeless, the best remedy is 'never stop praying.' Remember being joyful always doesn't mean we have to walk around with a fake smile, neither suppress but work on speaking positive over our lives and thanking God no matter the blessings big or small. Count your blessings instead of your burdens and let's not let our feelings dictate our joy. So the secret of happiness is simple, 'Count your blessings over burdens.'

Let your not qualifying for that job be the end or your struggles hold you back for what God is preparing or setting you up, so He gets the glory the gratitude and all of your praise. May you thank God through all your circumstances and send up your deposit of praise. Continue to believe and have a powerful faithful week.

The garden can be such a beautiful place yet filled with roses, briers and many thorns and thistles too. So let's take the speck out of our own eyes first before we pass the blame onto others who wronged me and you too. It was a morning like any other on the 4th of July but this time led to the Garden because of Eve. She has this way of just popping up out of nowhere making herself heard. Kind of like I want my side told too. So in steps Eve wanting to share her side. You see the plot it takes a turn where Eve's act or should I say curiosity cost blame and to add pain to her sorrow name and shame. So yes, Eve tends to get herself in a trap and for many years after that she tends to get a bad rap. That's life, yet it's also a warning to you and me that God speaks through someone unbeknownst, unseen, unheard of to get your attention to listen and not be naive. If only Eve listened is an eye opener to you and me, not to make mistakes or be caught up in things that have a ripple effect because of greed, jealousy and setting traps. Eve suffered and if you ask me, suffered alone in silence with no tribe of her own. Yet, today I had to forgive Eve for her wrongs because she eventually came out strong, the Mother of nations Eve, you worth your weight in gold. May we as Women forgive and not condemn. Like Eve, she swallowed a bitter pill in the form of chewing something delicious that caused chaos, confusion, mistrust a stir and division which led to traces of being misled and evil in our DNA. If only Eve could have seen what I saw that God wasn't holding her back, but protecting her from something not worth tasting, not worth knowing, not worth having.
