His life changed dramatically following a shared-death experience (SDE) in which he simultaneously perceived himself present in the physical world and in the Light with loved ones transitioning beyond. This extraordinary moment became the foundation of a decades-long journey to understand the nature of consciousness, the nonphysical universe, and what lies beyond death.

Dr. Taylor has served as President and Executive Director of The Monroe Institute, where he trained individuals in expanded states of awareness using binaural beat technology. With over 35 years of experience, he has developed practical, safe methods to help others explore realms similar to those described by near-death experiencers.

He is also affiliated with International Association for Near-Death Studies, contributing to research and education on near-death phenomena.
