Music can help facilitate worship, but worship is not the music we play or the songs we sing.  

Worship is the love, adoration, and honor we pour out to God.

Our relationship with God has so many wonderful dimensions. We are invited to talk with God and pour out our hearts to Him as you would talk to your father

Preparation is so important. The first thing to do before praying is to prepare your heart to seek God. A great way to start your prayer time is by thanking God for all He has done.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.” 

There is a right time for everything - a time to work, a time to play, and a time to pray. 

You have the ability to minimize your distractions by strategically choosing a dedicated place for your time of prayer.

Key One: Pursue God Daily, KEY 2: Pray an Hour a Day. The secret to sustaining your love for Christ for a lifetime is to pursue Him daily. The key is to discipline yourself.

The future is essentially a drama in three acts. Act 1 involves God confronting the nations of the earth regarding injustice and oppression. Act 2 develops the response of the nations to God’s interaction. Act 3 concludes with God’s judgment of the nations’ actions.

Looking at the world around us realistically, we can see that we may well be the final generation that the Bible speaks about in the context of the unique dynamics surrounding the Lord’s return. And it could be argued that many of us are practically incapable and emotionally unable to face, with true faith and courage, the unique challenges of the earthshaking trouble and glory ahead.

Yet when we come to the absolute end of our own strength and resources, we will discover that God is able to do breathtaking things to bring His people into their true destiny. He is our hope. The only way forward is to look to Jesus far more than we do the world around us.

The testimony over the Church in Laodicea is tgat they are Lukewarm. What does it mean to be lukewarm? It means the church was neither hot nor cold. They weren’t hot because they were not completely surrendered to Christ and His will for their lives. They weren’t cold because they did not completely reject Christ either.  In this devotional we look at the implications of lukewarmness and why it should not be allowed to exist in us or the Churches of Christ

When we do what Christ instructs, He has made three promises to us in this letter. He will take care of our enemies, He will keep us from tribulation (from the Great Tribulation in Revelation), and He will honor us. He will make us a pillar in the temple of God, and we won’t be shaken.

Reputation does not indicate righteousness. We must be intentional and honest to ourselves about our commitment to God so that we do not look good in the eyes of men but before God, dead and rotten

Jesus will return. He makes no demands of this church, He simply asks them to hold fast and to resist evil; if we do, we get Jesus! And He wrote this letter for all of us. For “Jezebels” who lead others into sin, for “Jezebel’s children” who follow others into sin, for “innocent bystanders” who allow evil works in the church, and for “faithful Christians” who need to hold fast.
