Christ uses each of the Church as an example to us today. He points out the good and he commends them. He also points out the bad and He insists on coreection. The word of God remains the same no matter what season of life. These same matters identified are relevant to us to assess our walk with God and strengthen what is right and correct whats is wrong.

James 1:12 reminds us, “Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”

These letter contain three key elements—though not every letter has all three. These three things will guide us as we read through this plan:

1) Good Work: An encouragement of what they are doing right. 

2) Get Right: A call out of what they are doing wrong. 

3) Get Ready: A reward if they endure the trials that are coming.

It is not worldly wisdom we need. It is the wisdom from our all-knowing God that we need. We need to pray for God’s mind in all things during all times and then ask for the courage to carry out His wise will in the earth.

Mankind will always hit a dead end when it tries to do everything by human effort and perspective. We must learn to relate with God based on His terms and that is the principles of His Word

our Savior calls us to align our hearts with our Heavenly Father’s heart. His plan is for our desires to be His desires, our wants to be His wants, our goals to be His goals, our will to be His will and our prayers to be His prayers.

Thankfulness is abnormal for the unbeliever, but normal for the believer. A heart void of God’s grace is incapable of consistently initiating gratitude, but a heart governed by grace can’t hold back a thankful expression.

Servant leaders produce a spirit of proprietorial ownership in others. To be in alignment with the Father, our goal must be to enable others to become proprietors. 

This is the heart of the difference between someone who builds a business on Christian principles and someone who does not. The latter provides employment for the purpose of making himself rich; the former is satisfied only if he can produce new proprietors who become partners in the business and prosper in it themselves.

Our labor reflects our motives, attitudes, and goals. In fact, economics is much more about people’s souls than the analysis of currency or stock market trends, which measure results more than causes. Ideas have consequences, and spiritual values show up quickly in our labor. Of all the world’s major religions, only Christianity has a theology of labor. Why? Because work is a holy, everlasting calling, and God loves to work. Work is a holy, everlasting calling.

God is a “Family Man.” He works through the family and is connected to the structure of the family. We are born again into a relationship with Him as our Father and with fellow Christians as brothers and sisters who are being apprenticed in co-running the family business. This apprenticeship is about responsibility, stewardship, and “buying in” to God’s work and people.  All lasting wealth comes through the family unit and is built generationally.
