The Ghost Furnace - “Man-Made Lake Monsters”

In this episode of The Ghost Furnace, we look at a curious sub-set of the popular cryptid and folkloric genre of lake monsters. There are lots of great stories out there driving people out of the water, and others flocking to it in hopes of seeing something more exciting than what the local Department of Natural Resources is saying inhabit their waters. Can a relic species that supposedly died out 66 million years ago live in a lake built in 1972? Can mutations cause gigantic fish to attack recreators? How far can bull sharks travel up the Mississippi? We’ll dive into all this and more.
