You can understand what happened to you, recognise your patterns and spend years working on yourself—yet still not feel completely like yourself.
In this episode of Intuition on Tap, Heidi Jane speaks with shamanic practitioner, energy healer, ceremonial guide, teacher and filmmaker John Whitehorse about Soul Loss, Soul Retrieval and the deeper energetic dimensions of healing.
John describes soul loss as the disconnection that can occur when trauma, shock, grief or prolonged survival pushes parts of your identity, vitality, creativity, intuition or sense of belonging out of reach. From a shamanic perspective, healing is not simply about becoming a better version of yourself. It may also involve retrieving, welcoming and reintegrating the parts of you that became inaccessible during painful or overwhelming experiences.
Together, Heidi and John explore John’s personal initiation into the shamanic path following the temporary loss of his eyesight, the difference between modern New Age interpretations and lineage-based shamanic practice, how soul retrieval is conducted, and why insight alone does not always produce integration. They also discuss ancestral trauma and inherited energetic patterns, the “witch wound” carried by many women, energetic cords and consent, personal sovereignty, the responsibility involved in maintaining energetic boundaries, and the importance of finding the original source of a repeating pattern.
John is trained and initiated in the Q’ero shamanic lineage of the Peruvian Andes and has trained in energy medicine through the Four Winds Light Body School. He is also connected with the award-winning documentary Shamanic Trekker: Journey to the Source.
This is a wide-ranging conversation about trauma, intuition, energy, ancient healing traditions and what it can mean to return to wholeness.

What if some of the thoughts, reactions and patterns you have accepted as “just who I am” are not truly you at all?
In this episode of Intuition on Tap, Heidi Jane speaks with Christine Agro about the energetic pictures, programming and imprints that can quietly influence how you think, feel and move through the world.
Some patterns are easy to recognise and consciously work on. Others are so deeply encoded that they feel like part of your identity—until something brings them into awareness. Christine explains how these energetic constructs may form, how they continue to shape our experiences, and what can become possible when we identify and release what no longer belongs.
The conversation also explores the influence of patriarchal conditioning and the ways women may internalise cultural expectations about who they should be, how they should behave and how much space they are permitted to occupy. When these messages are absorbed across families, relationships, institutions and generations, they can become so familiar that we mistake them for personal truth rather than inherited programming.
Together, Heidi and Christine explore:
• What energetic pictures, programming and imprints are
• Why deeply encoded patterns can feel like personality
• How patriarchal conditioning can become internalised as identity
• The expectations women may carry without consciously choosing them
• How hidden energetic constructs may influence relationships, emotions and behaviour
• The difference between consciously recognised patterns and those operating beneath awareness
• Why healing work can either become stationary or continue evolving
• How Christine first received this understanding during a client session
• What it means to de-encode patterns that are no longer serving you
This conversation offers a fascinating perspective on identity, healing and energetic transformation. It invites you to question whether the beliefs and patterns you have learned to live with are genuinely yours—or simply something personal, cultural or ancestral that you have been carrying for so long that you stopped noticing.
Christine also shares more about De-Encode, her accessible approach to recognising and releasing energetic constructs.

Is a gut feeling always intuition—or could your body be responding to anxiety, conditioning, past experience or nervous-system activation?
In this episode of Intuition on Tap, Heidi Jane challenges one of the most common assumptions in the spiritual and personal-development world: that every strong sensation in your body is intuitive guidance.
Gut feelings can contain useful information, but they may also arise from fear, emotional triggers, unconscious pattern recognition, absorbed emotion or a familiar survival response. When every physical reaction is labelled “intuition”, it becomes much harder to recognise genuine intuitive intelligence.
Heidi explores how regulation, emotional differentiation and discernment help you separate the original intuitive signal from the physiological and emotional response surrounding it. You will learn why intuition is often quieter and clearer than urgency, how past experiences can shape what feels instinctively true, and why calming your nervous system does not weaken intuition—it allows you to perceive it more accurately.
In this episode:
• Why gut feeling and intuition are not interchangeable
• How anxiety and nervous-system activation can imitate intuitive warnings
• The difference between instinct, pattern recognition and intuitive perception
• How emotional absorption can affect empaths and highly sensitive people
• Why regulation is essential for intuitive discernment
• Practical questions to help you identify what is creating a feeling
• How to develop intuition without believing every sensation your body produces
Your body is communicating—but understanding what it is communicating is where intuitive intelligence begins.
Regulation first. Intuition follows.

Have you ever ignored an inner knowing, only to look back later and think, “I knew”?
Perhaps your intuition was present all along. The real difficulty was trusting it.
In this episode of Intuition on Tap, Heidi Jane speaks with intuitive guide, teacher and author Dina Berrin about why so many people seek external confirmation when, at some level, they may already know the answer.
After more than twenty-five years of working with thousands of people at major crossroads, Dina has discovered that many clients are not simply looking for information. They are looking for permission, reassurance or enough certainty to trust what they already sense. But self-trust does not mean assuming that every feeling, bodily reaction or energetic impression is intuition. Fear, anxiety, wishful thinking, nervous system activation and emotional absorption can all feel convincing.
Genuine intuitive development requires you to recognise which internal signal you are responding to.
In this thoughtful and practical conversation, Heidi and Dina explore:
• Why people recognise their intuition more easily in hindsight
• The difference between intuition, fear, anxiety and wishful thinking
• Why intuition is often quiet, subtle and easy to dismiss
• How to strengthen self-trust without waiting for absolute certainty
• Why highly sensitive people and empaths can read others while losing contact with themselves
• How boundaries, emotional overwhelm and people-pleasing affect intuitive clarity
• Why emotional absorption is not automatically intuition
• How tarot and other intuitive tools can encourage reflection without replacing personal responsibility
• The difference between helpful guidance and dependence on external confirmation
Dina also shares her approach to tarot, numerology, astrology, charm casting and palmistry. Rather than using these practices to dictate someone’s future, she sees them as catalysts for reflection - tools that can help people slow down, recognise what is happening beneath the surface and reconnect with themselves.
This conversation offers an important reminder: your intuition may not be something you need to find. It may be something you need to learn to recognise, discern and trust.

Regulation first. Intuition follows.
Have you ever met someone and felt an immediate, almost supernatural sense of recognition, only for the relationship to become confusing, inconsistent or painful?
Perhaps the connection felt destined. You noticed synchronicities, experienced vivid dreams or felt unable to let go, even when the relationship was hurting you.
In this episode of Intuition on Tap, Heidi Jane explores the difference between a soul connection, attachment activation and a trauma bond.
You’ll discover why unpredictable affection can intensify attachment, how familiarity may be mistaken for emotional safety and why spiritual explanations can sometimes keep us invested in harmful relationship patterns.
In this episode:
• What “trauma bond” actually means—and why the term should not describe every intense relationship
• Why attraction, uncertainty and nervous-system activation can feel like destiny
• How intermittent affection may strengthen emotional attachment
• The difference between meaningful synchronicity and behavioural evidence
• When soulmate, karmic-partner and twin-flame narratives become spiritual bypassing
• Six questions for evaluating an intense relationship
• A guided inner-knowing practice to help you reconnect with clarity
• Why someone can be spiritually significant without being emotionally safe
A connection can awaken something profound within you without being entitled to permanent access to you. Intensity is information—but it is not confirmation.
Regulation first. Intuition follows. This is the way.
REFLECTION QUESTION If you feel comfortable sharing, what helped you recognise the difference between emotional intensity and emotional safety?

What if someone genuinely understands your emotions—but uses that understanding to manipulate rather than care for you?
In this episode of Intuition on Tap, Heidi Jane explores the emerging concept of the dark empath: a person who may combine narcissistic, Machiavellian or psychopathic personality traits with meaningful aspects of empathy.
This is not simply somebody performing sensitivity or mimicking the right emotional responses. Some people with darker personality traits retain the ability to read emotional cues, understand vulnerability and, in certain cases, experience emotional resonance.
What may be missing is consistent empathic concern, accountability and the decision to use that understanding ethically.
You’ll learn the difference between cognitive empathy, affective empathy and compassion; why emotional intelligence does not guarantee emotional safety; and how private vulnerabilities can become leverage in a manipulative relationship.
Heidi also explores the energetic and spiritual expression of this pattern, including mirroring mistaken for soul recognition, trauma bonds experienced as energetic cords, spiritual authority, weaponised “downloads” and the use of healing language to bypass accountability.
You’ll also learn why an empathic or highly sensitive nervous system may detect a contradiction before the conscious mind can explain it—and how to separate intuitive information from hyper-vigilance, attachment activation and emotional enmeshment.
“Dark empath” is an emerging research construct, not a recognised clinical diagnosis. The purpose of this episode is not to label people. It is to help you recognise the difference between being deeply perceived and being emotionally safe.
Empathy is information. Compassion is a response. Integrity is a pattern of behaviour.
Regulation first. Intuition follows. This is the way.
Monthly Clearing mentioned in episode: https://www.intuitionco.com/Monthly-Clearing
Not every difficult emotion needs to be reframed, released or turned into a spiritual lesson before you have actually felt it.
In this episode of Intuition on Tap, Heidi explores how toxic positivity can disguise emotional avoidance as healing—and why the pressure to remain grateful, optimistic or “high vibe” may leave you feeling more disconnected from yourself.
You’ll discover:
Healing does not require you to make pain beautiful while you are still living through it.
Sometimes the most regulated, spiritually mature response is to admit that something hurt, allow your body to process it and stop demanding that the experience immediately become meaningful.
You do not need to build a home inside the wreckage.
But you may need to stop pretending it built on strong foundations when you are ignoring the most vital parts.
What happened to the empath label?
In the first episode of Season Three of Intuition on Tap, Heidi Jane explores why the term empath has become increasingly controversial online, how empath culture evolved, and why many people are now questioning the identity altogether.
This episode unpacks:
• why the empath label originally resonated
• trauma, hyper-vigilance & nervous system sensitivity
• empath vs HSP frameworks
• narcissistic adoption of the empath identity
• performative spirituality & emotional superiority
• grounded empath work & emotional responsibility
Because sensitivity is real. But online identity culture complicated the conversation.
What if your resistance isn't self-sabotage?
What if the thing you've been calling procrastination, avoidance, or fear is actually your nervous system asking for integration?
This guided Inner Guidance Scan, is a companion process to the Spiritual Burnout Episode 18, and is designed to help empaths, highly sensitive people, and spiritually aware individuals explore the difference between:
✨ Soul Resistance
✨ Ego Avoidance
Through gentle reflection, nervous system awareness, and guided inquiry, you'll learn to check the "frequency" of your resistance and reconnect with your own inner knowing.
This process is ideal if you are experiencing:
• spiritual burnout
• healing fatigue
• emotional overwhelm
• decision fatigue
• uncertainty around your next step
• pressure to constantly work on yourself
Take a few moments to slow down, reconnect with your body, and discover what your resistance may really be trying to tell you.
As you completed this process, what did you discover?
✨ Was your resistance fear?
✨ Was it overwhelm?
✨ Or was it a genuine need for integration?
There are no right or wrong answers here. The goal isn't to force yourself forward. The goal is to listen more deeply to what your nervous system, body, and inner wisdom may be communicating.
What happens when your healing journey becomes another source of stress?
In this episode of Intuition on Tap, Heidi Jane explores spiritual burnout, healing fatigue, nervous system overwhelm, and the pressure many empaths and highly sensitive people feel to constantly optimise themselves emotionally and spiritually.
This episode unpacks:
• the hidden stress of the spiritual “to-do list”
• healing as hypervigilance
• Soul Resistance vs Ego Avoidance
• spiritual manipulation and self-trust •
nervous system regulation for empaths
• why integration matters as much as healing
Look out for the guided companion process: Inner Guidance Scan: Soul Resistance or Ego Avoidance?
Because not all resistance is fear. Sometimes your system is asking for integration.
