We’re joined by portfolio manager Patrice Quirion today to discuss global equities and where he is finding opportunities today. For Canadian investors, Patrice manages Fidelity Global Concentrated Equity Fund and Fidelity International Concentrated Equity Fund as well as private pool strategies. Patrice’s positioning is very much dependent on his contrarian style of investing. He looks at the fair value of a company, not necessarily on their earnings, but specifically can the company create cash flow in future years to come? He leans more towards the partsof the market that are unloved and out-of-favour. Patrice notes he’s actually finding more opportunities to buy today compared to a few years back and says there are opportunities in the cyclical parts of the market.
