The Artisanal Spirits Company Plc (AIM:ART), owner of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, delivered its interim results for the half year ended 30 June 2025, highlighting a resilient performance despite challenging trading conditions. Revenue declined 4% due to delayed US shipments, though excluding this, sales rose 6% year-on-year. EBITDA is expected to grow to £1.5m, up from £1m in FY24, supported by cost efficiencies across commissions, marketing, payroll, and overheads. Europe delivered over 20% growth, driven by strong cask sales and steady venue performance, while Asia showed signs of recovery after shipment delays. The US remains strategically important despite tariff-related headwinds, with new in-house operations, loyalty programmes, and influencer partnerships driving long-term potential. Membership growth remains robust, with UK recruitment up 40% year-to-date, supported by an Amex partnership, and international expansion continuing into Vietnam, India, and Brazil. The launch of the premium Artisan Casks private cask programme has begun generating sales, further diversifying revenue. With 19,000 casks held at a market value of c.£100m underpinning the balance sheet, management emphasised the significant asset strength compared to its current market capitalisation. Looking ahead, the company targets single-digit growth in bottle sales, expanded US shipments, and continued realisation of cask sales to deliver full-year guidance. Despite short-term macroeconomic pressures, The Artisanal Spirits Company remains focused on long-term growth, international expansion, and margin improvement, positioning itself as a leading global player in premium whisky and experiential spirits.
