  • ITN 161 | Ines Hall (New York, NY/Los Angeles, CA)

Ines Hall is an indie-folk artist who just released a new single, “Growing Pains,” which is streaming all over the damn place! I found Ines to be wise beyond her years and I think her maturity shows in her music, while still maintaining a fresh and youthful emotionality. The instrumentals feel drawn from a timeless blend of genres while the lyrics speak more to where the artist is at in her life right now. I think now is a good time to jump on the Ines train so you can grow alongside her as she releases more and more. Enjoy and thank you for listening. Air date: 7/15/2025.

  • ITN 160 | Painted Friends (Metro Detroit, MI)

I welcome back Mitch and Jeremiah of Painted Friends to the pod! These dudes are friends of mine and were one of the first 10 episodes ever of the podcast, and they’ve been pumping out the high-concept artsy brand of indie rock they do best ever since. They have too much going on to even really start writing about, so just listen to the episode or go check out their catalog wherever you stream music. Thank you for listening. Air date: 6/9/2025.

  • ITN 159 | Pesky Kid (Saginaw, MI)

Whether you know him as Pesky Kid, or maybe Pierre St. Jupiter, or That Guy From Kickstand, or simply Ben, you probably know that his dude has a mind that is always ticking. We talk about books, music, the middle ground where art and content meet, and honestly a ton of other stuff that you’ll just have to listen to the episode to see for yourself. The one thing I’ll say for sure is that if you want to let loose and have a good time, go see a Pesky Kid show. And if you can’t do that, doomscrolling through his band’s content is a decent alternative entertainment option.

Thank you for listening. Air date: 3/24/2025.

  • ITN 158 | Danny VanZandt in the library with the steel guitar (Detroit, MI)

We’re (I’m) back (kinda)! For the first episode in nearly one hundred years, I interviewed my good friend and In a Daydream bandmate, Danny VanZandt. His new album “Proust in the Kitchen with the Wooden Spoon!” is now streaming everywhere, and I think it’s his most personal work from a lyrical POV, while also having an air of storytelling that makes some of the songs feel like they could be about anybody. We deep dive into the writing process and meaning behind almost every song, while reprising the good old fashioned Invite The Neighbors silliness. Stay tuned for more episodes dropping in the future, as I am looking to do one or two a month moving forward!

Thank you for listening. Air date: 2/17/25.
