Welcome to Inwood Art Works On Air podcast! This artist spotlight is on visual artist, Yiorgos.

Yiorgos (George Tsugranes) retired in 2018 from his professions as a floral designer and a middle school math teacher for the Annenberg-funded arts program of JHS 22 and at the Special Music School near Lincoln Center. He has been creating visual art ever since.

Yiorgos’s art is always life-affirming, playful, and appealing. He has shaped a unique style that is instantly recognizable, bringing an appreciation of organic forms and the omnipresence of geometry to his work.

When not creating stirring images, he enjoys playing classical and jazz music at the piano, traveling abroad, and taking long walks with his wife and Labrador retriever.

He has previously exhibited at ChocNYC (February 2025) and Kuro Kirin (Fall 2024). His pieces are to be found in several private collections.  And we are thrilled to present his work at Inwood Art Works this Fall (2026).

An evening of vintage solo and duet songs from the Dominican Republic, featuring boleros, merengues, ballads, criollas, mangulinas and some of the most beloved melodies that remain popular generation after generation, performed by Dominican-American divas Victoria Guzmán and Anna Tonna, with arrangements and piano accompaniment by world renowned Latin Music expert Pablo Zinger.

Welcome to an Artist Spotlight episode of Inwood Art Works On Air! We welcome filmmaker, Sandra Luckow to the Studio!

Sandra Luckow is an Inwood resident and award-winning filmmaker and founder of Ojeda Films. Sandra received her MFA from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, Graduate Film and Television, where she honed her skills in film production, directing, editing, and cinematography. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University. She has worked for various icons in the filmmaking industry including Frances Coppola, Bonnie Timmerman, Paul Schrader, and Eleanor Bergstein.

She is fresh of her win for Excellence in Filmmaking for a Feature Film at the Inwood Film Festival for Vanishing: A Love Story, a documentary about award-winning novelist Cai Emmons and her loving, open-hearted journey towards death. vanishingalovestory.com

Welcome to Inwood Art Works On Air podcast! In this Artist Spotlight episode, we welcome writer, actor and multidisciplinary artist, Pablo Caviedes.  

Born in 1971 in Cotacachi, Ecuador, Pablo Caviedes has been exhibiting his work for more than thirty years. In fact, since 1990, his amazing images have graced prominent venues in Paris, France, Poland, Germany, and the United States, just to name a few.

In 1998 in Paris, he was one of ten artists, under 40 years-of-age, selected for the critically acclaimed, art historically significant, comprehensive and pivotal exhibit titled Emergent Artists from Latin America and the Caribbean, identifying a new generation of important up-and-coming Latino artists.

After moving to Manhattan in 2001, he’s been regularly displaying his animistic work throughout New York City, along with participating in critically acclaimed group and solo shows within the greater metropolitan area. Find out more at www.pablocaviedes.com

Francis Mateo is an artist who’s work moves fluidly between poetry, short fiction, vignettes, and photography books written in both English and Spanish. His published works include Ubre Urbe, El Alto, TropicalYork, and Sacarle Pétalos al Pavimento, books that have garnered international recognition for their lyrical exploration of memory, migration, and urban life.

On this On Air Artist Spotlight podcast we welcome local chamber music ensemble, Wildline. Host, Aaron Simms, chats with ensemble members Tessa Brinkman and Chris Gross about Wildlines work and upcoming concerts.

WildLine is a new project-based chamber music ensemble based in the wilds of northern Manhattan that imagines, nurtures and performs all kinds of sound worlds, ancestries and futures.

Initiated by flutist Tessa Brinckman in 2026, WildLine plays with inspired instrumentation, geo-poetic questions, multidisciplinary collaborations and commissions, and has launched their first concert season Still Here, in NYC. Still Here | One celebrated black composers and poetry featuring poet Angela Decker with flute, violin, viola, cello, and ambient percussion. Still Here | Two celebrated women composers and poetry featuring NYC poet Sharon Mesmer with flute, viola, guitar, and ambient percussion. Both programs were performed in collaboration with Morris-Jumel Mansion, Trinity Church, and St Johns in the Village, NYC.
