Story Transcript:

Ro: Într-o zi toridă de vară, într-un orfelinat vechi de la marginea orașului Timișoara, Ionel își petrecea timpul cutreierând curtea vastă acoperită de verdeață.
En: On a scorching summer day, in an old orphanage on the outskirts of the city of Timișoara, Ionel spent his time wandering through the vast yard covered in greenery.

Ro: Clădirea, cu zidurile sale gri și ferestrele mari, îi părea un castel misterios plin de povești ascunse.
En: The building, with its gray walls and large windows, seemed to him like a mysterious castle full of hidden stories.

Ro: Ionel avea 10 ani și era un băiat curios, mereu în căutare de aventuri.
En: Ionel was 10 years old and he was a curious boy, always in search of adventures.

Ro: Își dorea să descopere ceva special, ceva care să-i aducă un sens și să-i dovedească valoarea.
En: He longed to discover something special, something to give him meaning and prove his worth.

Ro: Într-o după-amiază, pe când explorează podul orfelinatului, zări un colț de hârtie ieșind dintr-o crăpătură a podelei scârțâitoare.
En: One afternoon, while exploring the attic of the orphanage, he spotted a corner of paper sticking out from a crack in the creaky floor.

Ro: "Ce ar putea fi asta?" se întrebă Ionel, întinzându-se și scoțând-o cu atenție.
En: "What could this be?" Ionel wondered, reaching out and carefully pulling it out.

Ro: Era o scrisoare veche, pătată de timp și abia lizibilă.
En: It was an old letter, stained with time and barely legible.

Ro: Cu inima bătându-i cu putere, începu să citească despre un tezaur îngropat.
En: With his heart pounding, he began to read about a buried treasure.

Ro: "Sub orfelinat... ascuns... comoară..." murmură băiatul, încercând să deslușească cuvintele șterse.
En: "Under the orphanage... hidden... treasure..." the boy murmured, trying to decipher the faded words.

Ro: Povestea din scrisoare era neclară, dar suficient de promițătoare pentru a-l face să creadă că ceva important îl aștepta.
En: The story in the letter was unclear, but promising enough to make him believe that something important awaited him.

Ro: Decise să păstreze secretul și, cu nerăbdare, plănuia să coboare în acea noapte în subsolul orfelinatului—un loc interzis copiilor.
En: He decided to keep the secret and, with anticipation, planned to go down that night into the basement of the orphanage—a place forbidden to the children.

Ro: Ionel știa că risca să fie prins, dar dorința de aventură și descoperire era mult prea mare.
En: Ionel knew he risked being caught, but the desire for adventure and discovery was far too great.

Ro: Noaptea se lăsă liniștită, doar luna zâmbea deasupra orfelinatului.
En: The night settled quietly, with only the moon smiling above the orphanage.

Ro: Ionel, cu o lanternă mică în mână, coborî scările care duceau către subsol.
En: Ionel, with a small flashlight in hand, descended the stairs leading to the basement.

Ro: Aerul era rece și umed, iar podeaua de piatră părea să aibă propriile sale povești ascunse.
En: The air was cold and damp, and the stone floor seemed to have its own hidden stories.

Ro: După ce cercetă fiecare colț, descoperi o trapă ascunsă sub un covor vechi și prăfuit.
En: After searching every corner, he discovered a hidden trapdoor beneath an old, dusty carpet.

Ro: Inima îi bătea rapid.
En: His heart was beating rapidly.

Ro: Încercă să ridice capacul, dar era greu și scârțâia.
En: He tried to lift the lid, but it was heavy and squeaked.

Ro: Exact atunci, auzi pași în spatele lui.
En: Just then, he heard footsteps behind him.

Ro: "Ionel!" strigă o voce familiară.
En: "Ionel!" a familiar voice shouted.

Ro: Se întoarse speriat și îl văzu pe Mihai, îngrijitorul orfelinatului, cu o lanternă în mână.
En: He turned around frightened and saw Mihai, the caretaker of the orphanage, with a flashlight in hand.

Ro: "Ce faci aici?"
En: "What are you doing here?"

Ro: Ionel înghiți în sec și povestii totul: scrisoarea, comoara, dorința lui de a găsi ceva special.
En: Ionel swallowed hard and told him everything: the letter, the treasure, his desire to find something special.

Ro: Spre surpriza lui, Mihai zâmbi și spuse: "Știu de scrisoare. Vino, să vedem împreună."
En: To his surprise, Mihai smiled and said, "I know about the letter. Come, let's see together."

Ro: Curând, împreună, deschiseră trapa și, sub ea, găsiră o cutie veche acoperită de praf.
En: Soon, they opened the trapdoor together, and beneath it, they found an old, dust-covered box.

Ro: Dar înăuntru nu erau bijuterii sau monede de aur.
En: But inside there were no jewels or gold coins.

Ro: În schimb, erau fotografii vechi și obiecte din trecutul orfelinatului.
En: Instead, there were old photographs and objects from the orphanage's past.

Ro: "Acestea sunt poveștile noastre," zise Mihai cu mândrie.
En: "These are our stories," Mihai said proudly.

Ro: "Este comoara celor care au fost aici înaintea ta."
En: "It's the treasure of those who were here before you."

Ro: Ionel privi uimitor la mementourile vechi și înțelese că găsise un alt fel de comoară.
En: Ionel looked in awe at the old mementos and realized he had found a different kind of treasure.

Ro: Una de emoții și istorie.
En: One of emotions and history.

Ro: Sentimentul de apartenență și conexiune cu locul său de acasă era acum mai puternic decât dorința de aur sau argint.
En: The feeling of belonging and connection to his home was now stronger than the desire for gold or silver.

Ro: Astfel, Ionel învăță că uneori cele mai mari comori sunt cele care ne leagă mai strâns de poveștile și locurile care ne formează.
En: Thus, Ionel learned that sometimes the greatest treasures are those that bind us more closely to the stories and places that shape us.
