Iowa Falls Evangelical Free Church Sermon Podcast

We learn a lot by asking questions. It starts (and seems like it will never end!) soon after little children begin talking and continues into adulthood. In today's passage, we will see people asking some good questions as they try to determine who Jesus is and how they will respond. Is Jesus the Christ? Where did He come from? Where is He going? What does that mean for us?

Most of the time, it seems we prefer to walk through our lives in a way that gives the appearance to others that everything is okay. In today's passage, Jesus comes out in the open to expose the reality of what lies just under the surface.

Because they've put together a palatable picture of Jesus in their own mind, most people are "okay with Jesus." But the curious crowds start to thin out when the whole truth about Jesus is told. As we finish John 6 today, we will see that when Jesus lays out the hard truth, many will go away. But some will come to Him and live forever. Which are you?

Today we return to our series going through the gospel according tho John. In two accounts that will be familiar to many, we learn some glorious truths about Jesus. These truths which we all need to know and believe, will be specifically applied today in the form of a charge to Stan Johnson who will then respond with his commitment to us as our new Associate Pastor.

We are back in the Sermon on the Mount again this week as we near the end of our "In But Not Of" summer sermon series. In a culture that likes to hand our rewards and with sinful hearts that crave the recognition of others, we need to hear the words from Jesus in Matthew 6:1-4.

We are back in the Sermon on the Mount again this week as we near the end of our "In But Not Of" summer sermon series. Because we live in a culture that likes to hand out rewards and because we still have sinful hearts that crave the recognition of others, we need to hear the words from Jesus in Matthew 6:1-4.

We continue our summer "In But Not Of" series with another sermon coming from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. All of us have some capacity to love. It's part of being made in God's image. But naturally, we will just love like the rest of the world loves. In today's passage, Jesus tells His disciples that that is not enough. Jesus calls us to love differently than the rest of the world loves.
