The official season is over and we're headed to Bowl season on crutches. Hawkeyes injured, transferring, or have bruised egos going into the holiday Bowl season. We talk Bowl games, who won what awards so far, and what our future may look like with a new QB.

Episode 16, the future of Tight End U, Luke Lachey. As a sophomore, Luke is already making a name for himself in the tight end room both on and off the field. As a native of Columbus, Ohio, Luke's father played for the Buckeyes and is still the gameday broadcaster for the Bucs. It was a huge snag for the Hawkeyes to land this recruit, and we couldn't be any more excited to chat with him. Matthew and I both believe Luke will follow in his father's footsteps by playing successfully in the NFL soon. Luke was completely willing to talk to us and was an awesome guest! 

Funny side story, my wife's Aunt was Luke's 6th grade history teacher in Ohio. We chat about that connection, how much he looks forward to going back to Columbus this season, and what super power he would prefer to have if given the choice.

Episode 15, a real modern-day Deion Sanders, Brody Brecht. Brody is currently playing both baseball and football for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Brody is excelling at both while balancing 2 sports and school work, being the 1st athlete in nearly 30 years at the U of I to participate in both baseball and football. We enjoyed our conversation with Brody, and Matthew pretty much thinks he is going to be the next Brody in a few years. Episode 14, the incomparable Jay Higgins, Hawk, Hawk, Hawk! Jay has been an integral part of the killer Hawkeye Defense the past couple of years and has even spent some quality time on special teams. Jay has grown tremendously as a player and is poised to grab even more playing time this year behind an extremely deep LB core.
