Advocacy group, Fi We Children Foundation, has stressed that teenage pregnancy, particularly among girls aged 10 to 16, is deeply concerning, as no child should be placed in the position of motherhood.The lobby group was responding to reports that approximately 102 babies were born to girls aged 10 to 16 at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital (VJH) in Kingston last year.

Works Minister Robert Morgan has welcomed the announcement by Kingston Mayor Andrew Swaby that money from the Parochial Revenue Fund will be used to rehabilitate roads in the municipality.  

Last week, Mayor Swaby indicated that affected roadways in all divisions will be patched or resurfaced , indicating that while more roads need patching, the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation has limited resources, including funding.

Speaking at Thursday’s Monthly Meeting of the Manchester Municipal Corporation Superintendent Duncan urged citizens to safeguard their communities amid allegations of foreign influence in the commission of murders.
