The Jamaica Urban Transit Company Limited (JUTC) is urging members of the public to desist from stoning its buses, after one of its units — which was commissioned into service on Tuesday — came under attack last evening in Kingston.

The JUTC says at about 7:45 P.M., a bus operating on Route 32B was attacked by unidentified individuals in the vicinity of Drews Land.

The Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) is calling for an urgent and comprehensive review of the emergency response system in Negril, Westmoreland.

JHTA President Christopher Jarrett is raising concern that Negril’s emergency response is under strain, because there is only one ambulance serving the area.

The Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) had reported that the unemployment rate fell from 4.2 percent in April 2024, to 3.3 percent, in April 2025.
