A man who was seen on a viral video physically assaulting a nurse in St. Andrew on Tuesday evening, remains in police custody.

The video which surfaced last night, shows the man armed with what seems to be a firearm throwing the woman to the ground before stomping on her head. 

This morning the police reported that the man had been charged, but later clarified that charges were yet to be laid.

Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says two more operating theatres will be established at the National Chest Hospital. 

Currently, the St. Andrew-based health facility has been operating with only one theatre. 

During a tour of the facility yesterday, Dr. Tufton noted that the existing theatre facilitates an average of 80 surgeries, monthly.
