The Ministry of Health and Wellness says 5,661 kilograms of food were condemned during recent assessments of food establishments. 

Portfolio Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton said the assessments focused on large food manufacturing facilities, such as warehouses, cold stores, high-risk establishments such as abattoirs, butcheries, poultry farms, markets, supermarkets, restaurants and food and milk processing plants.

The administration of Anchovy High in St James is working towards the resumption of classes, following devastation of its facilities during Hurricane Melissa. Principal Dr. Lavern Stewart says all buildings at its junior campus lost the roofs and there was major damage at the other facility.
