Irish citizens returning home after many years abroad, couldn't find a GP or get assigned to one. Safe Home Ireland was contacted by many people and Kerry Sinn Féin TD Pa Daly raised the issue with Mary Butler, Minister of State at the Department of health with special responsibility for Mental Health and Older People, who confirmed the primary care reimbursement service, PCRS, wasn’t assigning medical cardholders or GP visit cardholders to a GP or general medical services panel, for a short period, but new assignment arrangements have been put in place by the HSE and the service is back in place. Karen McHugh of Safe Home Ireland and Pa Daly spoke to Jerry.
