He chats with Bishop Bill Wack and Father Neil Wack. These are South Bend natives who are the youngest of 10 children. Both are Congregation of Holy Cross priests but Bill called Notre Dame home for his undergrad while Neil attended Purdue. That's made for some fun dynamics over the years between two brothers whose grandpa once lived across the street from Knute Rockne.

Bill is the bishop of Pensacola-Tallahassee in Florida while Neil has served in various capacities both around South Bend and outside of town for the Congregation.

This interview originally aired in 2021 on Redeemer Radio before the last time Notre Dame and Purdue met.

Imagine growing up without a father. You become a successful football player, go to college to play football and your college position coach becomes your mentor and father figure for the next 25 years.

Here's the incredible twist. As it turns out, neither of you knew that entire time that you were actually father and son.

That's the case for Notre Dame running backs coach Deland McCollough who eventually found his birth mom and then discovered his college coach at Miami of Ohio Sherman Smith was his birth father.

It's an incredible story of faith, family and football and how God works in great ways to bring a father and son together.
