The reality of student ministry is that some kids will get it, and others won’t. The heart is the motivational structure of the soul, it determines how people think, feel, and act. The Gospel deconstructs our focus on self, but we continually return to our fleshly nature. Our job as the student pastor is to let the Gospel tear down the focus on self. We’re not the ones doing the work.
