Mike and Darin take Irritable Dad Syndrome on the road for a very special—and very questionable-sounding—episode recorded while driving to Detroit to see Rush. Along the way, they stop for gas-station cuisine and somehow find time to discuss celebrity deaths, puppy yoga, prescription apps, Transformers and John Larroquette.

The audio may be rough. The food may have been rougher. But for the die-hard IDS fans, Welcome to Wapakoneta!

This episode is for the die hard fans. Mike and Darin were driving to Detroit to see Rush and decided to record an episode on the road. The audio quality is almost as bad as the food they ate at the gas station on the way there.

The boys discuss, among other things, the sad deaths of Dolly Parton and Tim Curry, puppy yoga, paying for prescriptions with an app, how to know if your car is not a Transformer and for some reason, John Larroquette.

Again, we acknowledge that the audio quality isn't great and we apologize. Please forgive us, enjoy this episode and give us another chance next week.

Six years of Irritable Dad Syndrome. Hundreds of arguments, questionable observations, fast-food encounters, marital grievances, Kroger incidents, and stories that really didn’t need to be told publicly.

And now we’ve gathered the best of Year 6 into one episode.

In The Best of Volume 6, revisit Darin's painfully patient attempt to buy two strawberry pies from a Popeyes employee, Mike being interrogated by a stranger at Kroger about his choice of crinkle-cut fries, and the discussion that somehow turns the entire cereal aisle into a spectrum ranging from sexual repression to Fruity Pebbles. 

You'll also hear Darin seek Mike's expert marriage counseling after Libby wears his good David Letterman hat outside, Mike explain why his wife was absolutely NOT allowed to remove a sticker from his pristine U2 concert program, and Darin's Thanksgiving encounter with a Tennessee state trooper who simply wanted him to “do better.” 

And then there's “Just put that anywhere”—a stupid little phrase that escaped the podcast, infected their wives and children, and will someday follow Mike and Darin all the way into the nursing home.

If you're a longtime listener, these are some of the moments that made Year 6 special. If you're new to Irritable Dad Syndrome, this is probably the worst possible introduction to Mike and Darin.

The pool noodle is back... and so is one of the funniest episodes of Irritable Dad Syndrome.
