About the episodeOn today’s episode, Eve sets Rose the challenge of drinking a glass of wine a night. For many, this challenge may seem counterintuitive to a healthy diet but in recent decades our understanding of moderate alcohol consumption has begun to shift. There’s growing research into the beneficial antioxidant levels of wine and the mediterranian diet, which includes two units of alcohol daily and is considered the healthiest on the planet, has been linked to a reduced risk of cancers and better sleep! Studies also show establishing moderate drinking habits can reduce binge drinking at the weekend. So, can a glass of wine a night really really lead to an improved mood, better sleep, and an overall healthier relationship with alcohol? Or is it all just an excuse to open the bottle of pinot noir? Let’s find out. The Challenge: Rose will be required to drink a 125ml glass of red wine daily for two weeks. Rose will take particular note of her mood, her energy, and will track her sleep using a sleep tracker app before and after the challenge.
