The Celtics beat the Hornets 127-116 in an offensive masterclass led by Derrick White. Derrick White had a regular season career high 33pts alongside his 10ast 1stl and 3blks!!! Derrick White came out of the gates scorching hot scoring 26pts at halftime on 9-11 from the field and 7-9 from 3 and simply couldn't miss. During the second half, the Hornets keyed in on him defensively and he adjusted and had 7 of his 10 assists in the second half. This was a masterclass. This was also another super impressive performance from our MVP Candidate Jayson Tatum who ended the game with 41pts on very efficient shooting as well.

As good as both of those were, a lot of eyes were locked in on newly acquired big man Mike Muscala who had an excellent debut with the team. Despite not having any practices or film sessions with this team, he went out there and played 16 minutes and contributed 12pts 1reb and 2ast on 4-8 shooting from 3. This was a very impressive debut and a couple things stood out to me. The first, and most of us already knew this was going to be the case but this dude can flat out shoot, Second, at 6'11", this dude can and will run the floor on every possession and that led to a couple of great looks. Third, for not being acclimated to this group whatsoever, he seemed like a pretty seamless fit on both sides of the ball. Overall, very impressed with his debut. This is a good win over a pretty bad Hornets team but this one had trap game written all over it and the Celtics came out firing which is great to see.
