This episode: Tron Legacy
Happy birthday Camp Counsellor Sam! And in honour of your birthday, we are shooting you with the convenient laser that makes you a computer program gun. Now you get a cool cyberpunk makeover, a dope soundtrack, and a fancy set of Rollerblade that leave little streaks as he whizzes by. But an evil program, that looks suspiciously like Sarah, but has a floating face, wants to do something evil so Sam has to stop her. (Can we gender a program?) So why not sit down to one of Sam's favourite movies, Tron Legacy, and figure something out…
What is Sarah's origin story? Why is The Dude here? And why is James Frain a Nosferatu?

This episode: Femme Fatale (2002)
It was a hot day in the Is It Camp Private Eye offices, when she walked in. She had legs up to here and eyes that could pierce your soul. We knew she was no good, but when did that ever stop us from taking a case? Of course, this is our first case, so maybe we should bone up on how to be good Gumshoes by watching Brian De Palma's film Femme Fatale.
What's Owl Creeking? Are we gonna get some sick split screens in the film? And how long does the film take to get gore?

This episode: Fierce Creatures
Well Campers, Is It Camp has been acquired by an international mega-corporation run by a sociopathic Australian, and in order to increase profit the Counsellors have been instructed to be LESS CAMP. *queer gasp* Turns out that most people just don't care about Camp. In order to help, the Counsellors are sitting down to watch the comedy Fierce Creatures, to figure out how to increase those profit margins.
What does the gambling upper crust of British nobility have to do with zoos? How often are we going to attempt an Australian accent? And how does Sarah rate this film on a very specific scale?

Famed psychic Robin, reporting of tales from the NEAR FUTURE. I foresee in Year 4 of the Is It Camp Podcast, that dire things are coming. Devious and queer things indeed. That Counsellors from Outer Space will try to resurrect long dead films to discuss, and prove whether these things of the future are Camp. To prepare ourselves, we will be watching Plan 9 From Outer Space!
What's the difference between the original black and white and the recolored version? How close can a patio be to a graveyard? And what is this Plan 9?!?
Join us for an episode that creates a very long and confusing metaphor.

This episode: The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958)
The Camp Counsellors are back baby, and this time they're hitting the high seas for a very circular journey to fight claymation monsters! Sam has been cursed by an evil wizard to become small. Not noticeably small, but small enough that it annoys him. He's now 5'10. So it's time for a quest, where Sarah has to retrieve an egg from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. It's magic, don't question it. So to prepare themselves, they're watching the 7th Voyage of Sinbad.
How messy of a series of pop culture references can we cram together? Who was Ray Harryhausen? And what wizardry are the special effects in this film?

This episode: The Starlost, season 1, episode 3, "The Goddess Calabra"
Many millennia from now, on the starship Is It Camp, three Camp Counsellors move from room to room trying to solve some kind of problem. This week they've come to a room filled with men. Sam is delighted, Warren is shook, and Sarah is a girl. And because she's a girl she must therefore be some variety of Goddess. What could possibly go wrong? That's why Warren is sitting everyone, including the many many men, to watch the Canadian 70s sci-fi tv show The Starlost, to figure this out. It's our annual Canada Day episode!
How much does Warren know about this forgotten tv show? What's with the acrobats? And why is everyone dressed like a track and field team?

This episode: Yentl
In a time long ago, only men could talk about Camp. And in that time, was a girl named Camp Counsellor Sarah. She wanted to study and discuss Camp so badly that she decided, once all her family were dead a buried, to disguise herself with Groucho Marx glasses and mustache, and set out to learn about Camp. Along the way she met not one but TWO loves of her life, but how will she deal with the deception in the very messy love triangle? Maybe the Barbra Streisand movie Yentl will shed some light on it.
How hot is Mandy Patinkin in this? How well executed is the film for “first time” director, Barbra? And why cant we solve everything with throuples?
