Federal Member for Wide Bay, Llew O'Brien, says pursuing net zero by 2050 is a "die in the ditch issue" that betrays the core principles of the National Party and is leading to economic futility.

He warned Gary Hardgrave that if the party mandates the 2050 target, it will represent a fundamental policy shift that means he "probably doesn’t belong in it anymore."
