In this weeks episode of 'Is this 40' we get the lowdown from Dan Ridgers (aka Ridgo) about what it's been like to be a new Dad at 40. We hear about some of the challenges he's faced during lockdown and he shares some of the valuable life lessons he's learnt since becoming a father. 

Talking is the single most important thing we can do as humans and it helps us to get a better understanding of what's really going on in our lives. This series, featuring 5 lifelong friends aims to promote the importance of honest conversations between men and the benefits these chats can have on their own mental health.

Due to COVID-19 recording of 'Is this 40' has temporarily been suspended.

In the meantime though we've recorded a series of one-to-one telephone conversations with our 5 lifelong friends which you can easily eavesdrop here. 

How do men communicate with each other on the phone? What do they talk about exactly? And how open and honest are they about what's really going on in their lives?

In this episode Abs & Chris force themselves to reflect on life at 40. They also share stories about the impact of coronavirus on their day to day lives. What lessons have they learnt during the pandemic and what benefits can they take away from six months of lockdown? 

We hope this episode accurately captures this significant moment in time.

This series aims to get more men talking about the things they wouldn't normally talk about and this particular episode is all about checking in on your closest friends to make sure they're doing okay.

Having successfully navigated their way through 2 pilot episodes our 5 lifelong friends are ready to take the next step in their podcast journey as they prepare to take their friendship to a whole new level by talking about the things they don't normally talk about. 

A format is in place for the series. An agenda has been made and the boys are ready to kick start their social experiment which aims to get men talking. Sadly a very tragic event forces the boys to reflect on life at 40, but how deep are they prepared to go and how are honest will they be with each other?

Having agreed to record a podcast all about turning 40, 5 lifelong friends from school attempt to get to the bottom of what it's all about. In this second pilot episode we meet Chris, the 5th and final member of the group.

With an official format still not quite in place the boys discuss the best way forward with the series and force themselves to talk about a few more things they didn't really want to talk about.
