Bhai Piara Singh Jee joined the Indian Air Force after completing eleventh grade. While in the air force, he met another Singh and began learning about Gurmat. Bhai Sahib was introduced to and began reading books by Bhai Randheer Singh Jee. Such was the effect onBhai Piara Singh Jee that soon after, he asked for and was blessed with Amrit. He became a Naam-Abyassi Singh.

When the topic of Bhai Piara Singh Jee’s marriage arose, Bhai Sahib went to Guru Sahib Jee for a hukamnama. Based on the hukam, Bhai Sahib informed his parents that marriage was not on his path. He would remain unmarried and do Seva for the Panth.
