What’s the point of anything when everything feels like it’s falling apart? We are surrounded by fear every day. It’s on the news. It’s in our feeds. It’s even in our conversations. Fear is a primal emotion that evolved as a survival instinct. When you feel fearful, your brain kicks into high gear, and your body prepares to fight, flee, faint, or freeze.Jesus warns that we are headed toward and will experience difficult days. - We see regular earthquakes, tsunamis, fires, flooding, hurricanes, heat waves and traffic accidents, around us.- We hear of wars and rumors of wars, famines, pestilences, family feud, spiritual coldness and a climate of deception, on an ever-increasing scale.- We’re warned of the ultimate panic attack – the end time – the rapture of the church - the tribulation – heaven and hell. It is coming. It would be like 'birth pangs' -- increasing in both frequency and intensity as the end of the age approaching. Therefore, the scripture admonishes us how to prepare ourselves to face this fearful time we are living in. | Island Church Sunday Service July 5, 2026
