Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire appears to hold; Dodgers add another star

TYRE, Lebanon (AP) — A ceasefire between Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah appears to be holding as residents in cars heaped with belongings streamed back toward southern Lebanon. Many are ignoring warnings from the Israeli and Lebanese military that they stay away. If it holds, the ceasefire would bring an end to nearly 14 months of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.

The Thanksgiving travel rush is picking up, with Tuesday and Wednesday expected to be much busier than the last couple days. A lot of travelers will be watching weather forecasts to see if rain or snow could slow them down. The AAA expects about 80 millions Americans to travel for the holiday.

NEW YORK (AP) — Law enforcement officials say they have broken up a shoplifting ring that stole nearly $2 million in merchandise from well-known stores and resold the items in New York City as well as in the Dominican Republic. 

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — The biggest November snowstorm to hit South Korea’s capital in more than a half century has blanketed the capital, grounding hundreds of flights and disrupting traffic. South Korea’s weather agency said 7.8 to 10 inches of snow fell in northern areas of Seoul and nearby areas.

NEW YORK (AP) — The holiday season really kicks off when the massive helium balloons start floating through New York on Thursday for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Americans’ outlook on the economy improved modestly in November, lifted by expectations for lower inflation and more hiring.
