  • Psalm 138:8: What Does It Mean?
Psalm 138:8 declares, "The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me." But what does that actually mean? Is this a promise that God will fulfill His individual plan for our lives? In this episode, we examine the verse in its textual, historical, and literary context, consider the original Hebrew, and explore how Christians can apply it without making the passage promise more than it actually says.

  • November Election: Faith is on the Ballot
The clock is ticking and the calendar pages are turning as we approach the November 3rd election, one week from today. What's on the ballot? It's socialism vs. capitalism. Abortion vs life. Many genders vs. male & female. Anti-Israel or pro-Israel. Secure borders or open borders. The abolition of police or law enforcement. The advancement of Islam or the advancement of Christian values. Indeed, faith is on the ballot. You must realize that those who are victorious in this election will vote on issues like these one way or the other. The control of the U.S. House and Senate weighs in the balance. But it's not only Washington DC, it's your state offices, your state legislatures, your courts, your sheriffs, your referendum questions and the list goes on. There will be decisions made that will impact and shape your schools, your courts, your communities. Former U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower said, "The future of this republic is in the hands of the American voter." We must recognize both the wonderful privilege we have and with that comes an important duty, a stewardship before God. That's why the guest on this edition of Crosstalk is urging Christians to get off the sideline. That guest was Debbie Wuthnow. Debbie is president of iVoterGuide, a division of American Family Association Action. She was named president in 2018. They provide information on many thousands of candidates in thousands of races nationwide. What can we learn from the 2020 mid-term election? Will this election bring momentum to the 2028 presidential election? How extensive is the information presented by ivoterguide? Get the answers on this edition of Crosstalk!

  • The Restless Heart: How Discontentment Leads Unfaithfulness
THE RESTLESS HEART: How Discontentment Leads to Deception and Unfaithfulness "Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied." — Proverbs 27:20 Why are some people never satisfied, regardless of how many blessings God gives them? Why do they continually seek something new - new relationships, new experiences, new opportunities - only to become dissatisfied again? And what does this restless spirit reveal about someone's readiness for marriage? In this Bible study, we examine the dangerous connection between discontentment, deception, instability, and unfaithfulness. From Eve's temptation in Paradise to Israel's murmuring in the wilderness, Scripture reveals how dissatisfaction can blind us to present blessings, distort our judgment, and make us vulnerable to deception. We also consider a vital but often overlooked question when choosing a marriage partner: Does this person possess the character to remain faithful when the excitement of something new has faded? Marriage does not automatically cure a restless heart. A person who continually abandons lesser commitments may carry that same instability into the marriage covenant. The Apostle Paul declared: "I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." — Philippians 4:11 The question is not merely whether someone is satisfied with you today, but whether they have learned the godly contentment necessary to remain faithful tomorrow. An important message for singles considering marriage, married couples seeking lasting faithfulness, and every Christian desiring a steadfast heart in an increasingly restless world.

  • The First Christian Martyr
The sermon examines the early opposition to Stephen, highlighting how his ministry of grace and power provoked a response rooted in the historical sins of Israel. By drawing parallels between the false witnesses against Stephen and the narrative of Ahab and Naboth in 1 Kings, the text illustrates the recurring pattern of religious leaders silencing God's prophets through deceit and violence. The charges of blasphemy against the temple and the law are contextualized through Old Testament prophecies, demonstrating that Stephen's teachings on the fulfillment of the Mosaic covenant in Christ were consistent with the Scriptures. The passage concludes with the supernatural composure of Stephen, whose angelic countenance testified to the presence of God amidst the hostile council, setting the stage for his defense.

  • 04-God’s Wrath
Now for the second aspect of God‟s judgment – the execution of his wrath against sinners and their sin. From the very first chapters of Genesis – with the fall of Adam, and God‟s subsequent judgment on Adam, Eve and the serpent – through the Flood, Babel, the destruction of the Egyptians at the Red Sea, the conquering of Canaan by Israel, God‟s anger against his people (see Judges, 1 Kings and II Kings, for instance), the repeated reproofs of the prophets leading to the exile of both Israel and Judah, the fall of Jerusalem, Christ‟s sentences against the ekklēsias in Revelation 2 and 3, to the fall of Babylon in Revelation 19, and finally, the closing words of Revelation, God has made clear his willingness – his determination – to display his wrath, his anger, in the exercise of judgment upon sinners and their sin.
