  • The Necessity of Abiding
This sermon explores the illustration of the true vine in John 15, emphasizing that the primary responsibility of the believer is not to produce fruit through human effort, but to abide in Christ. Listen along as Pastor Gable contrasts the failed vine of Israel with Jesus, the true vine, and identifies the Father as the husbandman who prunes and purges branches to maximize fruitfulness for His glory. The text clarifies that abiding involves a continuous fellowship with the Holy Spirit and submission to God's Word, which results in the natural production of spiritual fruit, including the fruit of the Spirit and the saving of souls. The sermon warns of the severe consequences of failing to abide, describing it as being cast away and subjected to judgment, while highlighting the blessings of effectual prayer and abundant glory that flow from a life connected to the vine.

  • Mercy or Misery
The sermon examines the spiritual danger of forgetting God's past faithfulness, drawing a parallel between the apostasy of ancient Israel and the modern tendency to attribute blessings to self-effort or secular ideologies. By contrasting the revolutionary ideology of Karl Marx with the evangelistic approach of D.L. Moody, the message argues that societal ills are best addressed through individual salvation and the power of the Gospel rather than political upheaval. The central theological theme, rooted in Jeremiah 2, highlights God's active remembrance of His covenant people's early devotion, contrasting this with humanity's failure to recall His deliverance from Egypt. The preacher emphasizes that while God remains attentive to His promises, His people often forsake the fountain of living waters for broken cisterns of vanity. The sermon concludes with a pastoral invitation to repent and return to God, asserting that national and personal restoration begins with individual faithfulness and reliance on divine grace.

  • God is A God Of Order
The Passover and the days of unleavened bread were important to the nation of Israel. The Passover was the day when God spared the firstborn of Israel and killed the firstborn of Egypt. Jesus Christ fulfilled the typology of the Passover. He is our Passover. We must trust in His sacrificial death in our place. His broken body and His shed blood are the only means of salvation for anyone. His resurrection and ascension seal that fact.
