  • Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu orders the country’s military to prepare a plan to evacuate civilians from the densely populated southern Gaza city of Rafah ahead of an expected Israeli invasion.
  • Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says he will seek to form a coalition government after his party trailed independent candidates backed by his imprisoned rival, Imran Khan, in parliamentary election results.

  • San Francisco Mayor London Breed is pushing a March 5 ballot measure that would require single adults on welfare be screened and treated for illegal drug addiction or else lose cash assistance.
