Americans see themselves as individuals first and the pressure to carve out a personal identity (a brand, a platform) in competition with others is tremendous. We together are the church because King Jesus has won the competition. He served us unto death, defected the gods and formed a people. We have nothing to prove and everything to offer.

The Story of God is delivered to us in a series of memorable events that keep us moving toward him. Forgetting leads to rebellion, foolishness, and pride.

While remembering involves looking back it can move us forward, leading to courage, hope, and anticipation

The church is the newly comprised family of God representing him and his action in the world.

The church is not a building nor a service provider. We are Family, Servants, and Missionaries and wherever we go we are to invite people to Christ, Community, and Mission.

In our hurried pace and fast food culture, we forget that meals bring people together not just provide food. When it relates to Jesus and the “feast” that he brings sometimes we care more about what’s on the Master’s Table than the Master himself. The Giver is always better than the gift and we need to Taste and See that the Lord is Good.

Sin is first and foremost against a merciful God who longs to forgive and our repentance after rebellion can lead others to reconciliation as well.

Our God is all-knowing and all-present. He loves us and desires to have a real, personal relationship with us.

There is joy in the journey when there is delight in the destination. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. Jesus is the journey and the destination. God has shown us that he has not withheld anything from us by giving us Jesus.
