Mastering a language takes a lot of time and effort, especially for someone who isn't born in an English speaking country. This is true for Ms. Inna Figotina, an ESL/FSL teacher who taught in Taipei for a few years.

In this episode, we talk about her starting point as a citizen of Russia, and how migrating to Canada made her fall in love with languages. We also talked about her experience teaching in Taipei, and the uniqueness of their curriculum. We also shared a few perspectives in the difficulty of helping kids and adults. Finally, we discussed about her book, which summarizes how she became a master of three languages, namely English, Russian, and French.

Work from home is the most ideal setting for many freelancers, businesspersons and employees nowadays. This is also the case of Keanu Sarmiento, a former ESL teacher helping clients in China and Japan. In this episode, we talked about how we ended up being in the ESL industry serving clients at home. Managing kids in a classroom can be a difficult task for many teachers. In many cases, one must establish himself/herself as a facilitator without losing composure. But what if you end up working with differently-abled children (students of determination)? How would you be able to assist these kids?
