IT in the D

Jason Collier is... well, was as of the time of this episode... a police chief and ordained minister in a small town in Texas who not only was married with four kids, but managed to have multiple other women on the side... and it all fell apart when one of them changed her Facebook profile photo to a pic of them as a couple... and one of her friends recognized him and knew his wife.  And it all went downhill from there.  Plus we're talking about a 7-11 you can nab as an AirBnB, Screech dead at 44, Gamestop's CEO praying that the fun with their stock never ends, and the fallout from Barstool Sports hitting Detroit's famous Coney locations.  All that and more...

So what did BarStoolSports have to say about the great Detroit Coney debate?  What the hell is "brushing"?  People in Michigan are pent up and horny, apparently... which could make the restaurant and bar openings on 2/1 an interesting spectacle to watch play out.  All that and more this week!

This one ran suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper long, and so we had no choice but to break it into two parts.  This is part two, which contains the rest of our chat with Fred Brown, our resident infectious disease expert, to dive in on the latest with COVID-19.  The vaccines and distribution of them.  The variants and mutations that are hitting the public and are even here in Michigan now.

As always with these, we strongly recommend watching the video if you want the full effect, which is embedded in this post or available on our IT in the D Facebook page.  Fred's full presentation can be found here: It and the d 1.18.21

This one ran suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper long, and so we had no choice but to break it into two parts.  This is part one, which contains our usual opening banter and topics before we dive in with Fred Brown, our resident infectious disease expert, to dive in on the latest with COVID-19.

We're joined by our friends from Shift_Up to talk about their latest evolution in job and skills training offered, as well as what they're seeing going on in and around the Detroit area these days.  They can be found at https://www.shiftup.tech/

Then, of course, we dove into the events of the past week... because as much as we try to avoid politics, sometimes it's just not possible.  From the chaos in Washington DC to the online ripples with Parler getting shutdown and experiencing a major data leak, it's certainly been an interesting start to 2021 to say the least.

We also chat Transformers: Earthrise, a parallel being drawn between Cobra Kai and the Star Wars films, Quibi's content moving to Roku, and some great things Nintendo is doing to help kids in hospitals.   All that and more this week... hope you enjoy!

Oh, and if you want to join us for some online gaming, click here.

Cobra Kai season 3 dropped, and the cameos and new stories were definitely worth diving in to.  Twisted Tea takes over social media, someone got $7 million to build a toilet that recognizes... an anal print like a fingerprint?  Netflix is raising prices, and more.

Cobra Kai season 3 gets a new release date, the Nashville bombing and the dangers of conspiracies, Dave doesn't understand alcohol-free alcohol, USPS is overwhelmed, more Wonder Woman 84 talk and more.

We bring in some friends to chat about the Mandalorian finale, thoughts on the Book of Boba Fett, and thoughts on spoilers in general.  Then we dive in on the latest COVID items like the at home testing kit that's been approved as well as the new strain in England causing all sorts of chaos.  Remember the guy who sued his parents over throwing away his porn stash?  Well, the case went to court and the details are about as nuts as you'd expect them to be.  That and more on this week's episode...

Detroit hits #1 in a national poll for people who smoke, Cobra Kai trailer is out and has a release date for season 3, Disney+ dropped multiple bombshells on their investor day as to what's coming in the next year and so much more...

Want to own part of a brewery for as little as $100, or know someone who that might make a great gift to? How about a craft cocktail bar / liquor store combo?  Curious as to how a place like Detroit Shipping Company has changed directions over the course of the pandemic to keep the doors open and the restaurants busy?  Listen in as we chat with Jon Hartzell, a driving force behind all of those projects (and more) over the course of tonight's episode.  Oh, and sure we talk Mandalorian and everything else going on as well.
