This week, 14850 Dining is paying another visit to our friends at Yxi’s Arepas & The Chef Gordito. This food truck in the west end opened last fall after a few years serving up Venezuelan and Mexican food at a stand at GrassRoots, the Westy, Porchfest, the BBQ, and other events around town.

They quietly opened during Apple Harvest Festival weekend in Downtown Ithaca, and now the new Tavern on the Commons is talking up their arrival. On the ground floor of the Hilton Garden Inn hotel at the corner of Seneca and Tioga Streets, the Tavern is open to the public in the former location of Kilpatrick’s Publick House.

Downtown Ithaca’s Coltivare Restaurant was only supposed to be closed for a few weeks last spring, and now we have the word that the “farm to bistro” collaboration of TC3’s culinary arts, beverage marketing, and farm education programs finally reopened this summer after over a year in limbo.
