This week Frank describes society non-judgmentally as "intellectually dull," and it is for this reason among many others why he does the show. He gives an example of this dullness from a just-ended masters' degree class and assures you that such examples are many all around if they could be counted. Later he gives a brief commentary about Howard Stern and the cancellation of his show from SiriusXM radio after 20 years, and puts the ribbon on this episode by praising the King of the Hill reboot while looking forward with great enthusiasm to other new comedy sequels and reboots all for good laughter and entertainment.

In another busy show this week, Frank begins by mentioning topics he could talk about simply because it's now the month of August. However he pivots to discussing the American Eagle/Sydney Sweeney ad "controversy" while giving his overwhelmingly approval of the commercial. After this he talks about the problem of emotions used in weather and other warnings along with the shortcomings of weather forecasting technology that try to predict a storm's future path and intensity. He ties this, perhaps controversially, in to the recent Kerrville floods which remain in the news. These and other events were not, and may never be, completely predictable and preventable due to "imperfect" forecasting. He finishes the show by paying homage to a few more celebrity deaths. There have been so many lately. Note: The show originally had brief tribute to Jeannie Seely who just passed, but Frank called her Jeannie C. Riley by mistake. He'll try to homage Seely next week. Frank has a big show today discussing several topics including observations from the classic movie Smokey and the Bandit and how it ties in to this show, at least in his mind. Then he recalls some high school memories of beer parties and others' discovery of his hairiness at the school cafeteria, the latter event leading to a life-long legacy and this show's name. Lastly he discusses the recent controversy regarding Chip and Joanna Gaines, soon to be the rulers of Waco, TX, and gives you his relatively uniformed yet insightful opinion regarding their Christian testimony and the need, regardless of what you're talking about, to take an appropriate, loving stand yet not to go to the extreme fringes either way.

On this week's show, Frank makes a humble correction regarding Lukas Nelson, who is Willie's son rather than great grandson as stated on Hairy Episode 64. This comes after hearing Lukas on Joe Rogan's podcast, where during the interview Lukas, much like Frank, uses somewhat "lesser" pop culture or art references to make a point or promote a life lesson or value. Lukas also shares Frank's concern for humanity and its future and how we have the potential to be and do so much more than what often actually happens. Frank ties this in to the philosophy of his show and why it is always worth a listen despite its flaws. Please be patient while enjoying this week as Frank has some stuttering and repetition, but assures you will be more enlightened and entertained by the end.

Today Frank recounts a couple of stories from the weekend at a popular casino resort. One involves a pool towel "vending machine" that overall seemed pretty useless. The other story is running in to an alleged great grandson of Willie Nelson at the resort's other pool. Finally, Frank describes a dereliction regarding the current use of pronouns in textbooks and sometimes non-textbooks that is not just annoying by itself, but simply makes things more difficult to communicate. Why is it that things which bother him (not "them") don't seem to bother others a little more?

This week Frank recalls fun, light-hearted childhood memories and the sense of humor he developed from such films as Spaceballs and the Naked Gun series. The occasion for such recollection was the recent announcement of Spaceballs 2 going in to production soon, and the theatrical release in a few weeks of a Naked Gun 4. Frank is cautiously optimistic that both will provide a few laughs as the times and the world have changed, but as Frank explains, he is a bit more enthusiastic about the Spaceballs sequel. He closes out the show talking about this show's social and cultural correlations to a "wellbeing" class he is taking in his studies, and really feels someday that he will be vindicated in most, if not all, of what he has says in either medium.

On this week's show, Frank explains his pivot from what he was originally planning to discuss/explain this week and then reiterates one of his goals or visions for his commentary via this podcast. Next he discusses Canyon's (and his) recent weather problems and how he and his wife will be leaving the area due to this and other factors including career change and, much more sadly, the loss of involvement in local clubs and community organizations the past two years. Finally, he gives an obligatory shout out to Texas Tech Softball on their tremendous run this season, but not first without wondering why the coach appears to overwork his star pitcher.
