Susan R. Opel is an enthusiastic lover of music, fashion, words, travel, red wine, baseball, social media, paper crafting, and LIFE.
A Michigan native, with a BA in English, Susan spent 16 1/2 years teaching English, art, and religion to students in Illinois, Nevada, and Indiana. In a leap of faith, Susan left the classroom in 2008 and moved across the country to pursue a dream job at Paper Crafts magazine (located in the Salt Lake City, UT area).
For 6 1/2 years she worked as an editor for Paper Crafts, and she forged relationships and friendships with scrapbookers, card makers, and manufacturers from all over the globe. Now, Susan is thrilled to use her organizational and writing skills and encouraging attitude as Editor-in-Chief of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine and Social Engagement Coordinator for SimonSaysStamp.com
Susan currently lives Utah with her creative sister just a few miles away from her 85 years young dad. She counts it one of her greatest blessings to work from home and be able to take care of Dad, too!
