Jared started stand-up when he was in Winnipeg and has now been performing stand-up all over Toronto and the GTA. Jared also does public speaking events and attended ToastMasters.

Paul Goneau came over on the 30th episode of It’s Bananas! Paul has been doing stand-up comedy for just over a year.

When it comes to Paul, you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. Paul has turned his life around after a troubled upbringing and getting into a lot of drugs, but after his nana passed away, he knew he had to change.

My good friend Danton Lamar came over to talk about how he left the United States because it just wasn’t something for him.

Danton enjoys travelling. A lot. And has been to many places most would dream to go! He started doing comedy in China, and you’d think it would be difficult, but he managed to figure it out!

Danton also hosts a bi-weekly show at The Frog and Firkin near Yonge and Sheppard at 8:00pm. Free show and great food! Check out the next show on March 5th!

Keith Andrews joined me today on It’s Bananas with special cute guest Precious. Keith has been doing stand-up comedy for about 4 years, but after the first year, taking it more seriously. His dad is also a stand-up comedian that currently teaches at The Second City in Toronto.

Keith producers and hosts 2 shows that you can check out in Toronto. The Kids Aren’t Alright at Wasted Youth Bar every second Thursday of the month at 7:30pm. And It’s Alive which happens once a month at The Underground 420 Café at 8pm.

Teacher by day, stand-up comedian by night. Ronald Hae joins me with great enthusiasm on this week’s episode of It’s Bananas.  Hailing in the Mississauga region, Ronald works for a prestige private school. When he’s not making jokes with his students, he’s out in the city grinding his comedic chops!

Ronald has been doing stand-up comedy for around 3 years, starting it a little bit later than when he wanted to. The key thing in comedy though is just starting at that’s what he did after a student told him to do it.

The wonderfully fabulous and outgoing Jordan Pines joined me on this week’s episode! Jordan is a young up and coming comedian, currently majoring in politics on his last year in school. He has been doing stand-up for about a year.

In Jordan’s short time as being a stand-up comedian, he has made it into CBC’s Next Up Top 10 Comedians, where he competed against 9 other comedians which gives the winner an opportunity to perform at the Halifax Comedy Festival.

Jordan also co-hosts a monthly show at the 120 Diner with Mandy Goodhandy, Make Me Laugh. A show where amateur comedians compete for prizes and get feedback from Mandy. The show takes place the 3rd Saturday every month at 9:30pm and can be watched live on Facebook here.

The wonderful and charming Clif Knight joined me on It’s Bananas this episode. Hailing all the way from Guyana, in South America for those who don’t know, and in Toronto now creating a storm with his comedy! Clif has been in the comedy business for over 3+ years.

Clif went to school for business, which has helped him with his stand-up comedy career thus far. When he was starting out, Clif produced his own comedy show, which he had to cancel after almost 2 years. Check out his new quarterly show that he co-produces live on Twitch, apt205, featuring stand-up comedians, improv, and sketch troupes!

Daniel Belkin joined me on It’s Bananas to talk about his story about getting into comedy. Dan was born in Israel and moved to Vancouver when he was 11. Dan went to school for computer science but wanted to follow his entertainer passion doing improv and moving into stand-up.

Now, living in Toronto, Dan continues his stand-up comedy journey. Dan also co-hosts a bi-weekly show, In Too Deep, with Zain Ali, who has also been on the show! Check out the next show January 16th at 9:00pm! It’s also free!
