On October 23, 2019, 19 year old Aniah Blanchard was kidnapped after buying chips and a drink at the Chevron gas station in Auburn, Alabama. Several days later, her car and her remains were found. She had been killed by 29 year old Ibraham Yazeed, a man with a lengthy criminal record. He was eventually captured and brought back to Alabama.
Ibraham Yazeed was charged with capital murder, but due to COVID-19, the court proceedings stalled.
